Well the exchange is tonight after work :P

I understand that the instructions are online, I have yet to download them, but I imagine you would have to use masking tape to cover the mirrored surfaces. Right now this is just hearsay.

After some research, it has been suggested I should upgrade to a K40 40w CO2 laser if I want to cut glass, metal and all wavelengths of colours acrylic. (It'll take fewer passes with the laser and speed up the cutting process.) It is recommended to buy a the $350 (8"X12") unit. And transfer the bits to the CNC device. (I'll keep you posted.)

But I could possibly write my name on the moon.  :P I'll look into it.
why doesn't the Guide mention them? - Oh, it's not very accurate.
Oh? - I'm researching the new edition.

Mobile update:
Today I had Draconian sleeping sickness, spent most of my time, ... doing the thing I just described..

Ordered some of the augments.

Need to track down decent eye protection.

Also going to setup some lights and do a proper video to document what I am doing.

Challenges:
1: Washing machine may have given up the ghost.
2: Home internet is down.

Funds may be in flux for a brief period of time.

I have ordered several sheets of A4 size acrylic from Essex. The colors are orange, sky blue, lime green, and interestingly enough: sex shop pink.
They arrived at the same time as the Laser. These were colours found in the season twenty colourstripe on the Sharp console. I have a few shades of the other colours in my workshop.

Gather Round for I have a disclaimer to deliver.

I want everyone to be safe. I'm doing my own market research here. If you buy lasers, treat them with respect. Protect your eyes. Take Safeguards. Educate yourself and make an informed decision. I'm thinking webcam the laser and have the TV on another floor.

So after watching a metric kilogram of 3D Printer reviews and Laser safety guides and you know what is really weird? How Mad Scientist is this?: All the files necessary to build a 3D printed Robot Arm

https://roboteurs.com/products/rbx1-remix-3d-printed-6-axis-robot-arm-kit

A robot arm such as one of these with a few additional accessories could cut a 3D rendering of a Hartnell Eagle Plinth out of wood. It could switch between the Laser cartridge and the wood milling attachment.

Using a 3d printing machine to print another machine? Reminds me of this:

The man must have woke up from sitting down and doing whatever he was doing and noticed that I was sold the laser so Amazon cancelled my order. I suspect they just wanted the cheapest price online so you would go to their store and buy some of their stuff but apparently they didn't want to actually sell me a laser. So I've ordered a new laser another K40 * and I'm also planning on buying a water chiller to keep the laser nice and cool for water-cooling purposes . More report later.

*For an additional cost of $ 50 USD.

I was hearing crickets man.  :P

I was hoping for someone to come forward and share their experience. Or at least cheer me on. Thank you by the way. I was scared after the accident and I still wanted to build.

It is 4:35 am my time, my dad will probably call me around 9am and we are going to move some things around in the basement. Then I'll Set up lights and a turn table for an unboxing video. But even then I need a water chiller and an air extractor. A basic kit comes with the laser but everyone says to upgrade.

So, I have plans to go to Toronto Comicon this Year. Going to add Peter's signature to the Dalek Survival guide.
