ok. I took the image into photoshop and did a perspective correction crop. Then gave the guesstimate of the box being 12inches at the widest (edge of the lid).
This gave the image the dimensions of 12inches by 5.978 inches and 182pixels per inch.

so then 91pixels is 1/2 inch. And the box inside lines up with that.

You could probably just round it up to 12x6 inches

What was the basis for using 12 inches as the width?

inside lining I figured are one inch squares. 11 across plus 1/2 inch wood on either side comes out to 12 inches. And 5 along the sides.
using those dimensions I've made this 3D model.

Any idea what they may have used for the urn? Funnily enough it looks like the product of the 2005 Daleks' civilization.
I speak to you from the final days of Gallifrey. I am the past you have forgotten. You are the future I will not live to see...

It could be a bit of vintage brass plumbing with a stopper added to one of the entry points for the pipework, and a machined lid added to the other entry point.

Rassilons Rod

Someone on FB has 3D printed one :D
In the cities in the streets there's a tension you can feel,
The breaking strain is fast approaching, guns and riots.
Politicians gamble and lie to save their skins,
And the press get fed the scapegoats,
Public Enema Number One.

It was seeing the one on eBay that got me thinking about it.

Returning to this prop for making reasons, its funny, these two hinges (marked in red in the below screenshot) are meant to be holding the line on - but their top halves are part of the lid, as it moves down as McCoy closes it. As per the screenshot, where its broken, the hinge is kept in place.

Not a very secure casket if you ask me...
