Yes the 145 does actually look a little better, I didn't notice that one, and no, only the 1996 Hudolin has had "Hammered" glass in it.
All the NST's have had something even finer in pattern than the pebbled, using a more "frosted" syle glass as found in shower doors.  This glass is so subtle that in many shots you can't really tell it is there, only by a good close up or a "through" shot with someone's head or good lighting on the other side does it even really show.

I've actually just emailed this company to get a quote for 16 cut to size pieces of the WG88

So.. I got a reply today from this company....

$149.76

+

$18.00 Boxing fee

+

$34.00 UPS Shipping fee (estimated)

HAHAHAHAHA You've got to be joking!

However the place here in today said $49 for a 30 x 30 sheet of hammered effect acylic.
Though that was a spur of the moment size as I couldn't find my sizes, later when I looked I need only a 16x28 so I am figuring half that price, though I will have to check with them.
I refuse to order this stuff over the phone as I don't need any cock ups due to those damned DALEKS!

hey mord...

I forgot which one you're building.. ?

Does it use the same glass I'll need for my 2010 build?

If so, I can probably get this stuff up here in Dallas at my supplier, cut and ship to you.

Nah, I need hammered glass, its a bigger heavier pattern, 2010 box used a fine frosting, you could save yourself some money if you know anyone with an old shower door.

I have to laugh. After spending hours looking at glass and plexi options, I just took the recycling downstairs and found that my gassed front door has perfect hammered glass panels I've never noticed before in TARDIS context, duh. Anyway, the texture is facing outside.

Old thread and I don't remember if I mentioned it upthread.  And it sounds like there's already a solution, but when I decided I needed pebbled glass I wound up finding some clear...acrylic? beads at a craft store and then making little "trays" out of tinfoil by imprinting the window frames, filling the trays with the plastic beads, and then baking them in the oven until they started to melt together.  Don't remember all the details.  Electric oven.  And initially started at the lowest setting and worked my way up.  For whatever reason it seemed to work best to bake them twice--do a bake, let it cool, and bake it again.  Not perfect.  But I think it was less than $4 for all 16 panes.  (They got overlaid on the existing windows, so they didn't have to be perfectly rectangular or perfectly waterproof.)

I recently ordered some Pebble Textured Polycarbonate from estreetplastics.com.  The price was totally reasonable, as long as 1/8" thickness works for you.  I went ahead and ordered frosted plexiglass from them while I was at it to complete the windows.
