Reminds me of the spinning mirror that the third Doctor put on top of his sonic on Peladon. Certainly looks like it would fit in with the classic-era props!

I realized as I was putting it together that it was going to come out like a truncated version of the Peladon prop but it wasn't the intent from the outset.  

The inspiration was Iris Wildthyme's sonic corkscrew... it got me thinking about how different Time Lords/Ladies may have sonic probes in different forms to suit their look and personality plus all the other sonic things that we've seen since 2005. I did want a more classic look and was limited to found bits and bobs but I am pleased with the result and especially how sturdy it is.

Glad you like it. The lens is fixed inside the frame and the frame rotates.

Very similar to the Doctor's hypnosis device from Curse of Peladon that he uses on Aggedor.

You're not alone in that but as I said to Angelus Lupus it wasn't the initial intent. I often make things not knowing where I'm going until I'm done and sometimes I'm never done, I'm always doing updates and making changes.

Decided leatherette was needed.

New leather, neck ring removed, neck sanded to match handle finish, faux crystal, new bottom and a blue LED.

It looks like you're all set to tame Aggedor if you ever wind up on Peladon. 

Tame him? He's one of my closest drinking buddies.
