Did they use a general anesthetic on you?  I decided I don't like general anesthetic.  I've only had it used on my once and it is like someone just edited out an hour (more? I don't even know) of your life.  Got a knee fixed and I remember going into the operating room.  Then I blinked and I was back where they did the preop.

I had that, back in March. It's definitely a bit freaky but I'm ok with it as my knee is much better.

They said they were going to apply a local anesthetic but I demanded the imported stuff.  :P I remained conscious for the operation but my head was under a tent so I didn't get to see that.
why doesn't the Guide mention them? - Oh, it's not very accurate.
Oh? - I'm researching the new edition.

I have a few of these round boxes I found at Michael's arts and crafts store.
I initially thought these would be excellent meter housings for a Hartnell/Troughton console.
IMG_20191227_103751.jpg
Then I had to dump my collection of Dematerialiseation Circuit parts out of it.

Now I just need to find another top to a circular box and cut a hole to see the light inside.

Took the time to read a card from a friend;

I think I found the right indicator lights for this console.

We sent them a card & got one from them as well. Hope they're doing OK as there wasn't any info in it either.

Chris.

I'm taking the card as a good sign.

I never noticed before but look at the picture with Romana's hand in it...

...now look at the black dummy switches...

...now look at the black block under the silver rectangle at the top of the panel...

...do you thing they used the same thing to make the rocker switches as they did the lower edge of the block?

warmcanofcoke

You talking about the Cove moulding that was used as switches?

Cardinal Hordriss

Yes... probably... the fake, black, glued on switches on the same panel (and others).

I'm challenging myself to make all of the controls actual controls on my console.  I will find a switch somewhere that will approximate the look of the cove molding.

In other news the cast comes off on Monday.

A kindred spirit indeed... though I've only managed most on my console.

Thank you Crispin. It will good to have full use of my extremities again.  :D

Because Peter Davison would twist the Arcoelectric panel mount indicator lights like dials, I'm thinking of putting frosted acrylic rods inside the caps of the lights and turning them into knobs with the help of a set of rotary pots. And then have a light source next to them under the housing so the dials illuminate. ;D

Most of the lamps that I purchased were around $10 USD but for some strange reason the clear lenses are $16 each..... I may go with a slightly different arrangement of coloured lenses for my console.

So it was a bait and switch - they took off my cast and gave me a new one.

So another two weeks with the cast.

Just an examination today.

My father had an accident with a circular saw today. I'm told the surgeon was confident, and my father is having his thumb reattached.

I would like you all to stay safe, and always be cautious and careful with power tools.
