Hello there I recently built a set of totters yard gates to put at the back on my shipping container where I keep my "big boys toys" just to add abit of decoration

I picked up some sheets of mdf cut to the size of the container

I then marked where the planks would be and using a grinder I scored the planks and wood effect nto it 20191106_111728.jpg

I gave the gates a blue wash some paint I had left over from the tardis and over sprayed the joints to look abit weathered 20191106_112507.jpg20191106_113406.jpg20191106_121824.jpg

Then all that was left to do was paint on the lettering

Once completed I sat them at the back of my container I hope yous like them 20191109_111634.jpg

Oooh nice shot of Hartnell costume against it.

Nice idea that! The Totters doors, I should consider that one!

What a brilliant collection of costumes - I particularly like the Pertwee outfits. Did you make these yourself?

Trouble is now you'll have to buy a junkyard to go with them...

lol
I speak to you from the final days of Gallifrey. I am the past you have forgotten. You are the future I will not live to see...

So that Auton Pertwee .. is he activated by heat or radio?  :D

An impressive and pleasing collection. Thank you for sharing.  :D
why doesn't the Guide mention them? - Oh, it's not very accurate.
Oh? - I'm researching the new edition.

The Hartnell costume actually made me say "Oh, my," out loud.  The jacket is magnificent.

I want to paint the Foreman Scrap Merchant sign on the side of my garage, next to my TARDIS, but it is so far down on my list of priorities that it is a little sad.  Shoot, I don't even have time to take and upload a picture or two of plaid pants.  :(

On topic, your gates remind me of scenery painting in college.  If you were painting a fence you simplified and exaggerated wood grain and contrasts.  It always looked cheesy to me up close, but it looked great on stage under lights.  While subtle detailed wood grain looked like crap.  Almost literally.  Just a uniform brown glob.
"My dear Litefoot, I've got a lantern and a pair of waders, and possibly the most fearsome piece of hand artillery in all England. What could possibly go wrong?"

Steve Rick's is a genius, isn't he?!
His blog was one of the inspirations for the creation of my own cosplay thread (yes, he's to blame!!)
Must get back to that...real life is a pain, isn't it...?

Russell
