Those boxes are so beautiful, have you planned to do the Brachaki altered from the early 4th Doctor era ? (without the lamp housing but with the black circular cap)
Thanks

I may well do the season 12 version... I just need to find the time at the moment :D

[/quote]I used a base coat of the French blue on all the models. On the season 10 I topped it off with several coats of Vallejo flat blue and a light weathering on top of that.

The season 8 had the french blue base, with a couple of top coats of French intermediate grey/blue. I them took some wire wool to the box to bring out the high points, as well as roughing up a few areas to give me the characteristic white flecks and chips that was on the prop at the time (sadly they don't seem to come out too well in the photos, but still...)

Excellent thank you :) good to know we're on the same page with the colour :)

More work ticked off on the '66 Brachaki...

This evening I fitted the lamp and started on the weathering...

Tomorrow I should start fitting the decals and adding some washes and dirt marks.

Then its just a case of fitting the electronics to all three models and my work is done!

These are amazing.

When can I pick my one up? ;)

I quite like the light spots.  I've never figured out how to do light spots well--only shadows.

I guess it's good that my full-size is lighter than I want.  I can just add shadow until the original color IS the light spots.

Thats the decals added and the weathering done.

All sealed with a coat of matt lacquer and the model work is finished. The only thing that remains to do now is for me to add the electronics; however i'm waiting for sound boards to arrive....

No, not the mind probe!

Thanks Guys!

The masters are made out of styrene and acrylic parts, which I then cast moulds from so I can replicate as many as I need...

Been playing "foreground modelwork" in the garden again...

The usual shenanigans...

It's amazing, how such a simple trick is so effective.

I've recently been building other things than TARDISes...

I know, I'm such a slut...  :-[

However its not long before I get back to the old girl, and as I was bored this weekend I thought I'd have a crack at another TARDIS...

Can you guess which variant i'm going for this time?

You know, as much as I love its shape, the late Brachaki does my head in. It's all the off angles and rough finishes...

On the one hand it's a blessing, because you haven't got to worry about getting things lined up correctly and you can be a little slap-dash with the construction and the filling; however the more OCD part of me hates the lack of smooth lines and the way the roof doesn't line up properly...

I do love it though, its *my* TARDIS... but I wish it was a little squarer, though  :-[

Anyway, this is as far as I've got with it for now. Can anyone guess the period?

Well, judging by the lamp, and the first couple of pictures in the http://tardisbuilders.com/index.php?topic=221.0 reference thread.... Planet of the Spiders?
A mixed-up non-conformist, trying to fit in.
