I was messing around on sketchup, and started experimenting with Things and managed to create this!

Oh wow, I love this concept! The Tennant-style dividers look really nice when paired with the classic aesthetic. Can't wait to see the full room. How're you planning on doing the roundels?

Thanks man!

I haven't a clue, just gonna see what happens, I want to make it dome shaped with the roundels in it like the Tennant console but I don't know if I have the skill so I might have to work around that  :)

Gotcha! I was picturing the dome shape, but with the classic roundels. But instead of the columns dividing each wall or section, you have one or two rows of smaller Tennant-style roundels.

I do really like this.  I still want to do a control room, but I inconveniently have too many vehicles in the space I was going to use for a control room.  And this is going to be a lot trickier than a more boring Hartnell console.  But I'd steal this in a heartbeat if I could.

And not that you're asking for advice but if I could do anything for a control room, I'd have a hexagonal room with the outside door on one side, the viewscreen on the other side, with two doorways to the TARDIS interior on each side of the viewscreen, akin to airport restrooms (not an elegand metaphor, but it nicely conveys the aesthetic).  Then the walls would be...a hexagon cross-section.  The entire ceiling would be the "An Unearthly Child" "Octagon".  And the top row of roundels on the bottom side would have that kind of dorm-room trampoline seat material on them so you could sink into them.

Dang.  I need to learn Sketchup. Or get out the hammer and saw.

Oh, and somehow the idea of doing a DNA helix in the time rotor popped into my head.  I kind of like the classic Hartnell, more mechanical time rotor, but making it go up and down...  Stick a crystal helix thing in the time rotor and it doesn't need to go up and down.  It can just spin from console to ceiling and look majestic.  Stick a mirror on top and bottom and it looks like it goes on forever.

Oooh I like a lot of those Ideas, I might go with some of it  :)

You should definitely get sketchup. it's quite easy to use and can help ion out problems you'd overwise encounter in your real world build.

I've changed the shape of the inner dividers to look better and added a lot more controls! "I do miss proper buttons"

I really like the banks of buttons and switches.  If I may, it either needs more monitors or some lights and gauges--you gotta know if pushing the button had the desired effect.

Although the first widely recognized personal computer, the Altair, was pretty basic.  IIR, 9 or 10 switches and possibly some lights.  The first 8 switches programmed a bit and the 9th switch loaded it into memory.  I'm assuming there was another switch to execute the program.

Some of the levers and switches used on the Hartnell/Troughton or even Pertwee consoles would go great on the arms between the panels.

Very cool id love to see more of this. I like when people do a classic twist on modern consoles something i like to do myself when planing consoles

:o :o :o Can't believe I'm late to THIS party! What an amazing design, I love this concept! I may have to steal this at some point in the future and 3D print it  ;)  :D  ;D

Very sharp! Love the solid yet fluid feel of this console! Your recessed buttons are nice, very protected!
