why doesn't the Guide mention them? - Oh, it's not very accurate.
Oh? - I'm researching the new edition.

I believe one of these ended up on the Dakek Emperor, in Evil  :)
In the cities in the streets there's a tension you can feel,
The breaking strain is fast approaching, guns and riots.
Politicians gamble and lie to save their skins,
And the press get fed the scapegoats,
Public Enema Number One.

One of them did indeed end up as the Emperor's dome:

"Only build what's necessary" - probably some television set/prop builder, somewhere.

Tony, you haven't got episodes 1,3,4,5,6 and 7 of Evil tucked away have you?!?

Well, you never know what might be lurking in a darkened corner or even what might be hiding in plain sight!  ;)

BTW, Nate, you've got this picture back-to-front... All Daleks are 'right-handed'!

And for those interested in the Emperor's 'livery' and approximate size (or - indeed - the possible colour of the Chumblies):

Here's just about the nicest Chumblie picture I've found so far:-

chumbleygalaxy4 (2).jpg

Couple of things I've noted whilst Chumblie watching. As further demonstrated by the Dalek Emperor's light-up dome, the four-stage shells (by all accounts a pale salmon pink in colour) were semi-opaque. At least one prop was fitted with a set of small lights which could go off in sequence underneath, as seen at one point in 'Air Lock'. So Chumblies don't just chumble, they twinkle as well! We do get to see a quick chumble movement too, with the upper sections doing a little shimmy.

The lowest section, the skirt/fender with the dangly Christmas tree bauble treads, looks to be flat behind where the baubles are paired together. So if viewed directly from underneath would resemble a square (or maybe triangle, how many pairs of baubles did each prop have?) with heavily rounded-off corners. Or were they just bashed about and misshapen?

Determined to keep this thread alive for a while, so here's some more Chumblie glamour shots. I love Chumblies, me.

Pictures 1 and 2 show the rounded-off square shape of the fenders pretty well, while the fender in pic 3 looks quite misshapen. Each prop seems to have eight bauble-treads arranged in four pairs.
