That said, it is almost certainly meant to be an early Tom Baker TARDIS.  Most of the design cues are refit Barachaki or Newbery.  For me, that was the Golden Age of the series--those early Tom Baker stories.

Can't argue with that though I do like the combination of Tom, Lalla and K-9. I know season 17 gets a lot of flack but I really like it.
I speak to you from the final days of Gallifrey. I am the past you have forgotten. You are the future I will not live to see...

Thanks everyone.
Yes indeed the box and design was identified quite some time ago.
Ive just been messing with it recently hence the update

Messing around and updates are essential.  Once you've got a TARDIS, there isn't much to do but admire it, hence fine-tuning things like paint, window glass, signal lamp, etc--and any minor repairs and maintenance (which aren't as exciting as renovations).  I just posted a new photo because I was taking out the trash and the TARDIS was reflected in the garage window and I thought it looked neat.

Is anyone elses Tardis invisible to visitors?

We've had various tradesmen round recently for different reasons and all of them have said "nice Dalek" "i like that" "is that from robot wars?" etc..

None of them have mentioned the Tardis that
they are stood next to/leaning against.

Does anyone else get this?

Frequently.
We have a full sized Tardis in our kitchen, which is where we usually sit with guests. It's not at all uncommon for us to be drinking tea/coffee with a new arrival and it can be half an hour or more before they suddenly laugh and say "I just noticed your Tardis!" even though it's been right in front of them all that time.
Tardises seem to have a natural perception filter. Or maybe people do...

Absolutely not! I quite frequently catch gardeners and window cleaners taking selfies with the box, or, on a few occasions, bringing friends or colleagues next time! One of them asked me to open it up and get a picture of him emerging to send to his family.
I never mind, I'm glad people can get so excited about it!
Clearly your Dalek is just so impressive that it draws the eye ;)
Isn't it how ironic that we have to think of solutions out of the box, in order to build our boxes a lot of the time?

Scarfwearer

Maybe its an indoor vs. outdoor thing.
Certainly people like to take pictures with my Tardis - when they finally notice it. :)

That Dalek is certainly impressive!
My favourite flavour  ;D

Awesome TARDIS, too, but you are dead right about people missing it.
My TARDIS is in the yard that leads into my training hall & I have lost count of how many prospective students have wandered straight past without noticing it, as they come in to ask for class details.

On the other hand I'm always getting people coming in & asking me if they can have their photo taken with her, so I guess it depends on peoples individual spacial awareness!

The photo of the two together is really nice.

I think TARDISes & Daleks were made to be photographed together!

Russell

I've spent today with a tape measure trying to produce a 1/10 scale drawing of my Tardis.
Now i have a headache.
I'm hoping to build a a pitch roof and box for under the lamp whilst trying to improve on a few things.
Very interested in scarfwearers texturing and hoping to have a go at that soon!

Ive drawn up the planned changes to my Tardis once its in the new kitchen.
I could use some help with the texturing.
Ive 5 litres of PVA and a bag of plaster

- I'd recommend mixing your mix and trying it first on some scrap wood. You want to be sure you're going to get something that works for you before committing it to your build.

- In my case I mix up the plaster fairly sloppy, so it can be painted on thickly with a paint brush. After that you can move it around and dab texture into it with a piece of old towel.

- For my current build I find I didn't add enough PVA glue, and I'm finding the mix is not setting up as hard as it did last time.
I can't give exact ratios, as I didn't really measure it, but you might want 1/4 PVA by volume rather than maybe 1/10 as I used this time around (these are guesses - try it out to make sure).

- Last time I found even in the summer heat of a conservatory it would take several days to a week for the texture to dry thoroughly. In that case I was putting it on pretty thickly: nearly 1/4" in places, though usually more like 1/8". This time I'm laying less on, and it is drying quicker with a dehumidifier. But it still takes days.

- If you want to allow white marks to show when the build gets scuffed, you can paint over the texture when it's dry. If you want to avoid that, you might want to mix some darker paint in with the texture, though the lighter coloured constituents will lighten the colour of the mix.

Hope this helps...

Thankyou for that scarfwearer, at least ive got an idea where to start.
Time wise ive got a couple of months to make the changes and try things before the builders come in and the Tardis is dismantled.
I will also be trying different shades of blue.

First coat in a very cold room.

Im using a 'Tuff Cab' texture roller and going over the cured plaster and pva texture mix from Monday.
Prussian blue. Probably be dry by this time tomorrow
The Tuff cab rollers claim to give a similar finish to what you'd find on a guitar amp.
