WINDOW CONSTRUCTION
As promised last week I am going to detail how I built my windows for those looking for ideas. After a frustrating attempt to produce a one piece window thru notching the spines I scrapped my attempts for the procedure below:

This is a cut acrylic piece 12" wide by 14.5" tall. You can see the completed window above the Acrylic on the bench.

I first surround the Acrylic with some 5/8" square trim. I used Brad Nails to secure.

Next I adhere some decorative trim that is about 1/8" thick and about 1.5" wide. This trim is wood glued to the top and 2 sides, then brad nailed with very short nails for added security. When the Acrylic is in place it rests against this trim so it cannot move out the front. This creates the front of the window and everything will be at this depth on the surface

I then use my sander to rough the surface of the acrylic on both sides to create that opaque look

You can see now how the Acrylic is secured to the window frame using tiny metal window pins

Finally I trim down some of my decorative trim and use Gorilla Glue Clear to adhere the Grid directly to the Acrylic. The bottom piece is also glued directly to the acrylic. The Glue Dries Clear, as you can see it foams and seeps out from behind when I secure with my clamps. This foam is easily trimmed and screaped with a blade when dry.

As a final step seen in the first photo I cut 2 pieces of ceiling light to give the bubble glass effect. These pieces are glued directly to the acrylic.
