I've actually made a head out of cardboard which is roughly the size of my own. I'll put the swimming cap over that then hit it with the paper machete.  But guys___The real question is... Do I go for the silver lipstick or not??!!!

That might be a step too far.....

Thanks for your interest guys.

Regards.

Paper machete?? Bloody predictive text......

Might not chop down foliage, but it'd give you a nasty paper-cut!  ;D

NO, not the silver lipstick, it looks foul, even on them. I thought it was over the top with make-up.

Yeah... I was wondering about that sliver lipstick myself. It makes me think that Cardinal Borusa had gotten into the powdered-sugar-covered doughnuts when no one was looking, and didn't think to wipe his lips clean after he'd eaten a few!

Definitely "OTT", so no; no lipstick.

Thanks for your comments and interest,  guys...

Steve: I was planning on wearing it down the disco!!
Are Disco's still a thing? :D

I do enjoy these threads

Well, I gather the mating rituals are now called either Clubbing or Raves, but the basic idea of getting hot and sweaty while damaging your hearing in order to be more appealing to other beings is apparently still a thing. The major difference seems to be that the noise that used to go "Thump, Thump, Thump" now goes "Womm, Womm, Womm". I think I spent 15 seconds in a disco once, which was the time it took me to get to the door after the base drivers were cranked up...

So no lipstick then... Oh well, Never mind.. I might just wear it for special occasions like birthdays or the induction of a new president..

Yeah.. They were still called discos when I was out courting :)
Steve.. When you were out living it up in your misspent youth, I think they were called "gentleman's excuse me's..."  ;)

Unrelated bit of info  alert... I had to go up to visit my parents this weekend. I took the train and of course it's London comic con weekend and there was a big football match at Wembley... So while I was waiting for my train there were two tribes of people milling around the station... Nice, mild, friendly, unassuming people dressed as Dr who, wonder woman, power rangers etc, then there were a bunch of rude, arrogant, obnoxious, loud football fans, generally being very belligerent and making people quite nervous. Well... I know 100% which group of people I'd rather belong to....

Regards...

Hey, I think if you teach martial arts and you want to wear silver lipstick, no-one's going to argue with you...

Of course as a little kid, we had roller disco, which made me realize how awesome and disturbing someone on rollerskates in full Time Lord ceremonial regalia would be.

You'd definitely need the silver lipstick for that, though.

Actually, you have a point..
With all that silver makeup in "The Deadly Assassin" & "Robots of Death" I wonder if the BBC got a good deal on a bulk order??

Started work on the cap.

I made the basic shape out of card then covered in the old faithful: papier mache:

Then I painted it.
In the "Deadly Assassin", the cap is quite a bit darker than the collar, so I tried to emulate this. It's amazing how the light effects the look:
Inside, in a dim light, it looks very browny orange:

But outside in bright light, it looks a much more reddy orange:

The circles in the forehead are for a nice circular brooch that I found which will add a nice decorative touch to the cap.

I know Tom's was plain, but I thought I'd use a bit of artistic license. :)

Thanks for reading.
