Well Dino - thanks for the compliment! However, I should point out that the only plans I've ever described as "screen-accurate" are the ones I created for the original Brachacki Tardis interior. Everything else is - of course - subject to revision.

From the feedback I've received from Mark Barton Hill (via 'Evil Bob'), I think my TY-J plans are extremely close (within a couple of millimeters) but - as you'll have seen elsewhere, Slava (dw_1200) and I are working together on the original Brachacki Tardis exterior to create 'wire frames' which can be overlaid onto various photos of the box to check the accuracy of the dimensions of this version.....

We're not quite there yet (Slava has his university work and I'm busy illustrating various stories for an up-coming Dr Who publication) but we are now very close to being in a position to produce screen-accurate dimensions for the original Tardis too.

After that, well, if Slava is agreeable, we might turn our attentions to the Newbery box and see what we can achieve together on that version.

In the meantime, T@rdisman will simply have to choose whose plans of the Newbery box he wishes to follow (though I will say - at this stage - that the plans which show that this box had two steps above the side panels are incorrect; it didn't (doesn't?), it only had two steps above the front doors - the side panels only ever had one step above them).

Oh, and by the way Marc, the doors fitted to the Newbery Box for Castrovalva and Black Orchid weren't the wooden 'formers' for the TY-J box - this is a myth (but - as they say - more of that to come elsewhere)!

You're welcome, Tony. And it is true, what you said about the plans you've described as "screen accurate". (I should clarify that now, in case my last post was ambiguous.) What I inferred was that your meticulous method of pixel counting to get pixels per inch for something of known size, and using that to calculate the measurements of parts of a TARDIS prop (any model), or other prop or set piece, really, will give us measurements as close to screen accurate as possible without physically measuring the actual prop. (Perhaps that should read "Prop accurate", rather than "screen accurate"? As we all know, things seen "on screen" look different in person.)

So if I've given anyone the impression that your Newbery drawings were "screen accurate", then it was my bad wording that gave that impression, and I offer my apologies for that.

I would say that being within a couple of millimeters is "as close as possible" to (prop accurate?) as we're likely to get without measuring the actual TY-J prop. (Keep in mind, everyone: "as close as possible" doesn't mean "screen accurate".)

Yes. I've been following that one closely. (I'm making my own errata sheet with your revised measurements to go with your (and Crispin's) drawings so I can make "red line" corrections on them. (Good thing my "Project: Brachacki" is moving along slower than I'd hoped. It will give me a chance for more accurate measurements of this one!)

As this is my favorite version, I say take all the time you need, especially with Slava having to put his studies first. Your illustrations are also important. (All I ask is that you try to get the revised measurements finished before I regenerate from old age! )

I know with all of the Tom Baker fans we have that will go over very well! Most people associate the Newbery with Tom Baker, so with him being their Doctor, the Newbery is their TARDIS.

I wrote that back in 2015 and I believe I've been pulled up on that point before 

Giving this thread a bump for 2 reasons:  1) As I consider a console room in a basement with low ceilings, the Newbery is the obvious choice and 2) Based on the style of Les' plans in the link in the OP, I used his plans as the basis for my Brachaki TARDIS (the inaccuracies in my build are all the result of practical changes I made and not the actual plan) so I wanted to give credit where due.  I actually did that build before I found this place.
