Okay, so, apparently this is the new big tardis exterior, and, I just don't understand. But, none the less, I wanted to help people out:
The Color of The TARDIS Exterior:
The Color of the main wood is a color named William (Hex Code: 355565)
And... you know what? I just gonna put photos of the colors here:

Window Day:

Window Night (With the light):

Window frame:

And reference for the exterior I stole from a Youtube Video:

Anyway, that's it so far!

It looks like it might be approaching sunset in the photo (based on the buildings in the background), so that may need to be taken into account with regards to colour shift.  I wouldn't be surprised if the window frames are actually closer to silver than the peach that the photo has suggested.

Beee

Fair enough, but I was taking the color directly from the image, and this was a rainy day.

Hi all,

The big trouble with trying to source colours from photos is that the colour changes dramatically as the light shifts.

I have taken pictures of my TARDIS throughout the day & each picture looks like a completely different box!

Is there any chance someone in the know could get the exact pantone colours from the Beeb?

I know they can be a bit reluctant to release details, but there must be some way of finding out?

Regards,

Russell

The trouble is also compounded by the way color is displayed on computer monitors. Colors will look different from one monitor to the next. A shade of blue on my monitor might not be the same shade on someone else's monitor. So, light shifts, the camera taking the photos, the way it's displayed on a monitor: loads of variables that can affect how a color appears.

This would be very interesting to know, mainly because it would let us know if the Beeb has chanced the "official" TARDIS Blue from their original statement that it was Pantone 2955c (http://tardisbuilders.com/index.php?topic=4265.0), which only really matched the Series 1-4 boxes anyway. Knowing the latest "official" Pantone for the blue would be a nice addition to the apparently growing list of "TARDIS Blues".

indeed because so far when it comes to the people myself included doing the drawings or 3d models or any virtual creations we have just had to guess the shad e of blue

I think there may be more than one colour in use:

It looks like there may be a quite dark shade to begin with, covered partially by a much lighter colour. I seem to remember that the 2005 box had five shades of paint?
I could believe we're looking at just two shades and some dirt, but it wouldn't surprise me if there were more.

boxman550

that seems to be the case

Since the BBC stated the official "TARDIS Blue" (at least during Series 1-4 when they released that statement) was Pantone 2955c, regardless of what they change the "official" blue to when they change from one Series to the next, is it possible that this official color is just for the base color?

We see more than one shade of blue (black-wash and weathering aside) on just about every TARDIS model in the show (Series 5's pristine look not withstanding). So maybe the Beeb's official color (whatever the new Pantone might be... or has been) is just for the base coat that goes on the box, before any other shades are slapped on to make the Old Girl look like that "battered blue box".

Possible?

Definitely possible. It's also possible that after the 2005 box was painted, someone decided they needed a Pantone number for marketing/merchandising, so they just picked one that looked 'average' close. I'm not certain of the order of events.

The order is easy:

-TARDIS Builder builds his TARDIS and paints it to the best color match possible, and is happy;
-The TARDIS prop changes color, and the TARDIS Builder does the best color match for a repaint (it's good to note here that this covers all color images available from Season 1 through the 1996 TVM, so, lots of repaints);
-The prop changes color again (now moving into the New Series), and this time the BBC releases the "Official" TARDIS Blue Pantone Code for it;
-TARDIS Builder excitedly takes the Pantone Code to get the exact match, and repaints the Old Girl yet again;
-The prop changes color again and looks nothing like the "Official" Pantone color;
-TARDIS Builder goes off the deep end into one of those nice wrap-around jackets that keeps you really warm at night, and spends some time in a nice room where they have thick, cushiony pillows on the walls, floor, ceiling...
