Hi everyone!

I've been on a HUGE hunt for sound effects that the Console makes when it's being programmed/piloted.  The ones I'm looking for are the ones that prevalent from the Davison era onward.

I'm aware that there are many DVDs that have a few of the sounds, though they are usually spoiled by other sounds or dialogue. I've had a go at reproducing some of these sounds using a software sine-wave generator, though being the perfectionist that I am, I'm not happy with them!

Does anybody out there know where I could purchase or acquire these sounds from?  Not even really sure if they've ever been released on vinyl or CD even?  Any help would be very greatly appreciated!!

Thanks

Jarrod :)

The old BBC Sound Effects albums used to have everything on them.. it's worth looking them up, definitely.  :)
My pilot's license? That's out back in the Cessna. Or perhaps you're referring to my license to kill. Revoked. Trouble at the Kazakhstan border.

I could give you the details but then I'd have to kill you, which I can't do because my license to kill has been revoked.

Question for the forum admin(s):  If I were to post a link to these requested sound effects that I have sampled from actual episodes, would I be violating copyright laws, or forum polices?

The (Doctor Who Wave Archive) has been running for about 15 years and has a huge collection of short samples from episodes, so I think you could be forgiven for linking to a few, particularly if they're not CD audio quality...

EDIT: Site has apparently expired and become toxic.

Here are console sounds effects that I have sampled from s18 onwards.  I've done my best to filter out background noise, etc.

I plan to eventually create a microcontroller project to play these sounds based on inputs to the microcontroller, however that is down the road a ways.  Hopefully someone can make use of these sounds in the meantime.

In mid-2015, I checked the Doctor Who Wave Archive only to find that whoever ran it didn't run it anymore and Windows Virus scammers had gotten a hold of it...it will tell you your computer has a virus and such and such but it plays a loud voice stating that and it freaked me out...I think in order for people not to get caught off guard, the link probably needs to be just text and not a url.

Thanks for the heads-up. I have removed the link.

This link seems to be working without any virus warning, bogus or otherwise:

This one is mostly TARDIS sound FX.

There is also the TARDIS Sounds Yahoo! Group https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/TardisSounds/info. The sounds are in the "Files" folder and are either in WAV, MP3, or WMA format. You have to join the Group to download the sounds, but it's a free sign-up, and you will need a Yahoo! account. Still, it's another option.

I hope this is helpful.

I am already in the Yahoo group, at least I remember joining, the sound FX are great!
