Wow! Those are come amazing close-ups, CH! That's a beautiful key. (Type-39 TARDIS? Or earlier, still?) Also, what's that notched part near the center - the chrome-like thing around the glass cabochon? I know I've seen things like that somewhere before, but for the life of me my brain can't dig out that memory.

I hope that's not a 50p you may have just breached the coinage act 1971    I think the chances of you getting in trouble for it are slim though  .

If you mean around the brass dome then it's a thin ring then a tooth lock washer, one of those that goes on and then doesn't come off.

It was cast using 50ps but once cast the original was disassembled and they were returned to the wild.

Yes! That's the thing! A tooth lock washer. (Sorry if I caused confusion with that center dome. I thought it was a glass cabochon, with the glass dome being brass-colored.) My equipment on the ship had those on just about everything, and in all sizes. (I guess I've just been away from the military for too long. I'm forgetting what those little bits are called. Thankfully I still remember the important parts of electronics work.)
