It's far from proof, but the last diagram update fits the posts, panels and sign box planes. If I'm right, it is indeed back to a classic series sized prop. The only thing I wonder is if the doors are a little taller. A standard residential door is 78"/197.5 cm (sometimes 198.1), but the designers might've taken a shortcut and made the doors 2 meters high.

also may i add using your TARDIS plan i adjusted my render and to me it seems that the windows and panels look at tad more rectangle but in the filming images they look more square, so i feel its off a tad it may not but i just get a feeling it is box plan.jpgjodie's TARDIS render.jpg

It doesn't end easily. I found additional straight on pics, but with camera a little high and the res unfortunately low. Nonetheless it proves that my door proportions have so far been wrong. Others' instincts that the windows/doors are wider are obviously correct. I'll forego the labels for now, but without changing the width of the posts, the measurement of the door works out nicely 104 x 200 cm without any ultra fine fractions. The roof tiers get a little taller and wider, which seems to ring true to the size of the lamp.

Looking good so far. I'm holding out for a more reliable reference for the door height, though.

Looking at it in the face on tarp shot, I think the signbox is about 10% taller than the post is wide.

Also, I think the roof pitch may be higher than the step:

The orange lines are diagonals and should all be in the same plane.

I think this may be what's going on with the door/wall dimensions:

I think you're on the right trail here - especially since the bevels only skim instead of going all the way through. The panel heights, however...

That's looking pretty good to me.
I'm not 100% sold on the scale yet. We'll just have to keep our eyes open for a picture that removes any doubt.

this is probably in accurate but i made this line drawing based off the line drawing design on the doctor who logo shirts i thought id add it to here because its refrence from the t shirt design 13thDoctor_kA5sV7I.jpg.size-600_maxheight-600_square-true.jpg13thDoctor_kA5sV7I.jpg.size-600_maxheight-600_square-true1.jpg

boxman550

ive also created a rough height chart of jodie's TARDIS size its not accurate just an estimate rough estimate of jodie's TARDIS height.jpg

boxman550

when comparing it to my line drawing it pretty much if not does match the actual prop thats pretty good for guessing omfg.jpg

Instead of adding yet another diagram to this thread, I killed the one a few entries above. The recent pic, in spite of not being all that high res, is enough to convince me I'm still on the right path. If continuing to assume the doors are 2 meters high as well as applying the standard material size logic, it matches what I've already done except for the door panels each being 5mm wider and a total door span padded out mere millimeters. The posts ended up being a little shorter and the sign boxes taller. I decided to ditch the extremely small measures in favor of nominal sizes. It's wood so there's some wiggle room. It's simpler this way. The individual window panes ended up being awfully convenient numbers, which also smells right to me.

Great drawing, Gene, though I wish you would have kept the original so we could follow the progression of refinements. And I'm guessing by the numbers in this drawing that your measurements are in centimeters? (I'm only asking because it's not labeled on the drawing, and the measurements mentioned in what you wrote are given in millimeters.)

I'm guessing it's centimetres as 138 cm is roughly 54", the same as the Yardley-Jones prop.

The lamp needs to be scaled up a bit. Even though the exact lamp (however modified) hasn't been found, the general dims of the similar ones that are available have consistently been 6" / 15cm in diameter.

Not to muddy the waters too much, but this version I did is 57" wide. .JWTARDIS.png

I've made several attempts to figure out the dimensions of this prop. This is the latest.
The scale factor is still speculation. I tried going with 200cm for the door but the numbers are more plausible if i go with 198cm (which is closer to 6'6" - the same as the classic boxes).
There's always a degree of uncertainty when measuring off of photographs rather than the physical prop. It's not an exact science.
But this is the best I can do at the moment.

JW4-200.png

One interesting thing to note is that the door stiles that are hinged look narrower than a convenient wood width. I think they may actually have a little of their width hidden behind the post/door frame.
Unlike the grooves, I think the post caps are 2cm tall - the width of a standard plank of wood.
The dimensions of the roof stacks are gleaned from other photos, as they are distorted by perspective as a result of being further from the camera.
JW in the photo I mostly used would appear to be wearing 3" heels - which is not unlikely given the context. I'm not regarding her apparent height as definitive.
