In the cities in the streets there's a tension you can feel,
The breaking strain is fast approaching, guns and riots.
Politicians gamble and lie to save their skins,
And the press get fed the scapegoats,
Public Enema Number One.

A bigger and slightly better version of the first picture (again best viewed in a separate tab with the use of the 'magnifying glass'). Note the lead from the lamp which extends to the studio floor and is partially buried in the sand:

And the 'grand daddy' of all Tardis images (best opened in a new tab with the 'magnifying glass') with thanks to Crispin for 'bending the forum's upload limits':

Looking at these photos again, I'm leaning towards that "lens" on the roof lamp being a white translucent cylinder rather than a frosted cylinder. (Like the white of an incandescent light bulb as opposed to a frosted-look of parchment paper... or a shower curtain.)

The cylinder is uniformly bright when lit, and uniformly white (not frosted) when unlit. The only way that's possible is for the cylinder to be translucent rather than frosted.

Thoughts on that?
