This will help.

I kinda feel your Syrian candle would work quite well the other way up. :)

Just finished a new wall from a thicker piece of scrap wood.

I see from the Edge of Destruction Set layout there were two of the roundeled walls. One over by the doorway to the living space.

My hopes for this project are to recreate all the set lay outs of the 1960's console room.

As you can see the 1:7 Kelt Console isn't in scale with the 1:6 Brachacki interior. I'm probably going to save the console for last. Just purchased some supplies to craft an Knossos chair and a mk1/mk2 armchair hybrid - the one with tassels.  Eventually the doors will open and close. There is a lot of stuff to do.....

Well, so far you're doing it quite well. In some of those later photos, if you removed the Capaldi figure, console, and a few other "scalable" items to take the photos, one could almost think this was a full-scale build going on in someone's large workshop. (My brother-in-law has such a workshop - definitely large enough to fit a full Brachacki console room in it, complete with Canopy. So it can be done.)

I don't remember seeing it mention in your diary so far, but have you figured out how you're going to tackle the roundels yet? Bucket-style, or the later flat, frosted perspex-style?

Hopefully Both.  ;D
I want to be able to re-create the layout of all the stories. So I may have to swap out the bucket style for frosted plastic depending on the images I need.

Kitty wants a place to sit.

Printed out the template and used a glue stick

Used the table saw and drill to trim some of the wood away.

It is a start.

Visiting Tony's article http://tardisbuilders.com/index.php?topic=4825.msg55109#msg55109 we see a render of the photographic blowup wallpaper by Thomas Doran.

I had a roll of wrapping paper printed up at Spoonflower.
Cut the image out and used some spray adhesive on some Masonite.

I think the three walls came out pretty good.

Question did you give spoonflower the roundle pattern to print or was it already on there? As I'd love to get it printed on wallpaper:)

I uploaded it. I don't own the image Thomas Doran made so I can't offer it for sale without his permission. But anyone can join Spoonflower and have custom Giftwrap / fabric / wallpaper made.

It looks like it would take some work to make this a repeating pattern.

This is looking great. I can never tell if the printed roundels protrude or are inset, like those pictures - is it a vase or two faces etc.

Just reading through some old threads picked at random and thought I'd post as I have since answered my own question...

It depends which way up they are mounted in the particular story. With the primary light source being above...

Shadow underneath the roundel = protruding roundel
Light underneath the roundel = inset roundel

My initial confusion was because they aren't always mounted the same way up and all I'd really noticed is that sometimes they seem to be intended to stick out and other times not but I hadn't properly looked at them at the time of wondering.
