I am still here and  working very slowly on this console.  The Virginia weather has turned cold so its harder and harder to get out in the garage to do some work on it.   I am in the mean time collecting parts for printing out.  13DoctorWho has me covered on the small silver handles and the piano keys, however I have been scowering this site for the full measurements of the slider housings,   for reference the two large silver domed housings and bases for the slider controls for the demat/materialization sliders.   I found the top down measurements for them but I need a side elevation so I can provide to 13doctor who for rendering and print out.  Does anyone have the thread for the measurements f it or an already created full size STL that they could perhaps send my way that is accurate to the Kenneth Sharpe console?

Thanks guys, going to try and brave the weather today for some work wish me luck.

I got the start of the table going,  I got a late start today and wanted to take my time with the measurements on this.  I measured exactly 46" per side and I did this knowing that I may muff it up and wanted some fluff built in as it has to be 46 inches with the trim in place, so I have enough where I can shave of some of my circular saw mistakes and get to the exact measurement.    Since its now a straight edge I have to deal with I can just measure and run it down my table saw to get a perfect cut.   Few pictures of it.

You truly don't appreciate how big this thing is until you get this portion done.

Hello everyone,

Today was a good day for console work. the weather cooperated so I was able to move it out in the driveway while I worked on the table top portion.  I cut the second half of the table bottom , 3 fins , just dry fit right now, as well as the main hole for the time rotor.   I had started on a 4th fin but botched the cut, so figured that was a good time to stop.    I hope that it goes without saying that if anyone ever has any questions about the build I am an open book and always willing to share what I have learned.  Ok, enough of that..on to the pictures.

Wow, Karst! Seeing that old girl sitting across the entire width of your garage doorway really does give you a sense of how monstrous she is going to be! (You see actors against it all the time, working the controls, but the size still doesn't sink in for some reason until you see it in this sort of light. :o)

Great work so far! (And even though The Evil One has graduated from UMW, the wife and I still visit Fredericksburg now and then because we like the area, and there's so much to see. So... ;D once you've got this girl finished, I'll shoot you either a PM or an e-mail well in advance of our next visit, and maybe we can get together so I can have an up-close and personal look at this beauty. And hopefully that will work out better than our failed attempts to get together when we were always popping up that way to drop off or pick up The Evil One several times a year... for 5 years :P. Maybe without that timetable working against us we might actually get to meet... eventually. :))

The thing is huge, it feels a bit less so for some reason with the time rotor hole cut out, but still, its big.  Of course you can swing on buy for a look Dino my man, It would be a pleasure.

At 96" from corner to corner, I bet mine is huger! :D

I can recommend getting some small feet under your plinth ASAP - it'll keep all that nice ally off the concrete.

karsthotep

yes, my last console was about that I think, 94 or 96",  I still have those pictures from when I visited you in Seattle to see it back around 2006 I believe,  Great console man,   still an inspiration to me me now.  I'll be getting the feet on here pretty soon,   Not sure I want wheels or feet,  its really not something I would be wheeling around so not sure.  debating on that.
