thanks, I didn't get a chance to work on her over the weekend like I had hoped,  I am in the process of moving fully to that townhouse so was cleaning out the apartment and trying to get things organize in some semblance of order.  Work will commence again this weekend.

Finally some work done this weekend,  I finished the last trapezoid on the plinth and began on the doors.  I had to fiddle with the last trapezoid for quite a while as despite my best efforts to keep things as carefully measured as possible a bit of error always seems to creep in, once all is primed and painted it won't be noticeable to most eyes, I will of course always see the errors I made, even the small ones seem immense, but I keep repeating its the journey not the destination, and I am not a wood worker so I think I am doing pretty well despite all that.    On with the pictures,

My magnets worked very well for the doors, one on the top, one on the bottom for each panel.  they hold nicely but can easily be opened, the plywood on one door is slightly warped, but when its in you really can't see the gap, and after watching through the pertwee and baker eras mine has a lot fewer gaps, then the original did so again, some validation of my work  I have the doors numbered as again, always a tiny bit of variation in how they sit.  I recessed the magnets for a flush fit of the door.

And from the front,  The gray trapezoid was my problem child,  I had measurement lines all over it and it was distracting so I hit it with some primer I had on hand.

small update from the weekend,  I did get another door completed on the plinth, no pictures of it though so look at the other two and imagine a third one <lol>  I spent part of the weekend sealing a deck so had limited time.  I did purchase the appropriate handles for the doors so will be getting those installed in due time.

Gosh, look at how neat you're putting that together!

(Unless you're tidying up between pictures ;) )

Of course I'm tidying up for the pictures lol,  it's a small garage so I have to prevent a lot of clutter, i move the plinth into the driveway and then back in depending on what I am doing on it it's a pain but it is what it is to build it.  It's worth the space management issues

Its been a while since I have posted an update. I am a systems admin and was in the midst of a large upgrade project for an application called Blackboard  it was eating up much of my time  last month what with planning, upgrade of a DEV environment and then having  to work over the labor day weekend to get through the PROD upgrade, followed by support of  UAT of the system the following week.   Spare time was minimal luckily it is all over now and this weekend I made some good progress  on the plinth. All doors were finished with handles and magnet attachments.  It finally looks like a complete unit now.  I still need to fasten the two halves together and get the wheels on, which I have slated for next weekend.  Sanding and filling will be ongoing so when its time to paint i'll have nice smooth surface.   Enjoy the pictures.   Have to thank Tony for the great plans I am working from, so much better than my last build.

Where did you get your access panel handles from? They look absolutely perfect (as, indeed, does the plinth)!  :)

Thanks Tony that means a lot coming from you.   I got the handles at Home Depot,  I thought the same thing when I saw them, they were a spot on match.

Thanks all for the comments, and troughtonstrousers, love your console BTW,  a great inspiration for me as I work on mine,   Can you share how you did your new panel edge covers?

Aw that's incredibly kind as for those edge covers it killed my brain working out the angles but the beauty of the original console it's not perfect so can get away with it lol IMG_2969.JPGIMG_2969.JPG

you'll have to share those angles I suspect i'll be yelling "my brainnn huuurrtts" while wearing a towel on my head.
