Every picture I see of Peter Davison with a fan-built console of his era (this, or the Five Doctors) he always seems to be having fun playing with it!

Oh, I dunno... he looks kinda happy in the second one, and I'm willing to believe the first one is him getting ready for the person in front of him to take a picture (unaware someone else was) or he's doing a Doctor-ish "hmm, the Old Girl's not quite right" pose.
Maybe I'm being generous because he was my first Doctor, even if I only vaguely remember being terrified by the Cybermen (I was young), and no solid Who memories until Ace and her cool jacket (in hindsight that may explain why 8yo me wanted to pin my collection of badges all over my own jacket)

Ha, it was a brief shoot for him and he said very little. But awe well, the first of many (I hope) Doctors to come

Alas another con display and I'm missing things off it, d'oh

I'd think I'd be terrified of having my replica console on display (if I had one!) without some sort of force-field/crocodile filled most.

Actually, I think the way it travels causes more damage than the visitors/punters!

Just realised but it should have read "knicked"!

Well I'm not happy its been damaged in any way but I'm happier that it was due to transport rather than fans stealing.

Oh yes, nothing ever stolen. A few parts here and there been used over zealously but nothing extreme that can't be repaired or replaced easily.

To show how this thing goes together, I did shoot a timelapse video of me putting it together in the garden (because I only have a shed now) but to save you seeing my saggy-self trapsing around, here are some quick screengrabs...

The thing isn't completely together as I'm working on the rotor mechanism , but there after, 6 "shelves" go into place - onto which the panels themselves pop onto.

That console looks as beautiful as ever! You're certainly taking great care of her considering all of the travels she's doing. (I hope that "mistake" in that one photo was easily rectified.) And I see a future projection of her 13th self is getting her hands on the controls, too! Brilliant!

P. S. I would love to get a backdrop like that; from the material it appears to be made from I think it would either make a great wall-hanger... or a great shower curtain!
