Hi
My name is Manuel and I am a huge Doctor Who Fan from Germany.
(Please notice I'm not that great in writing Englisch)
Since I saw Doctor who the first time, I was so impressed by the TARDIS and I wanted to own one.
I am very experienced in building cardboard, props and models, so I decided to build this model out of cardboard too.
Although used were Hot-glue-gun and acrylic paints.
Since I do not have enough space, I thought to build this as a model.
I've chosen the 1:10 scale.

May 7 2017
The first day of building my own TARDIS. I decided to start with the Console. It is based on the 11th and 12th doctor TARDIS console.
I've made a pre model to get the scale right.

May 8 2017
I Started with the Base and noticed that the pre model was a little bit to small.

May 9 2017
I've finished the Hexagon which goes on top of the base. It is an understructure. Details will be added on the next day.
It turned out pretty good.

Adding details and colouring it in Grey, makes this model looking loke like real.
It's not finished yet.

At first I just wanted to build the TARDIS console but I decided to build the whole TARDIS ;D

A great start Manuel!

I'm a big fan of cardboard builds and I know another member here (14th Doctor) loves cardboard too, so you're in good company.

And don't worry, your English looks far better than my German would be.

The14thDr

That's true, I love cardboard!! ;D I think you're off to a great start Manuel, and I love those little levers - it's astounding how much detail you have managed to capture in such a small scale!

P.S. Welcome to the forum! :)

 Hi everyone
Because I'm a student, I decided to just post updates at every weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday). So then let's get started.

May 13 2017
I decided to work on the console later on the build and started building the centere part of the TARDIS. I wanted to have a unique floor design and tried to build some airvents like in the 11th and 12th TARDIS.

May 17 2017
The Airvents were a little bit to large and didn't fit into the build. So i covered them up. Then I've primed it in grey and weathered it with a black wash. Also I started to build the underside. I had the Idea of building a light beam and surrounded by claws.

May 20 2017
I finished my Idea and started building a stand.

May 21 2017
I extended the ground area to have several areas to walk there (if it would be 1:1 scale ;D)

That's it for this week. Please stay tuned for next weekend.

There are no time restrictions, post when you are ready. There are some builds on here (a couple of mine included) that haven't been posted on for years and then all of a sudden there is a wealth of activity and the thread continues as though it never stopped!

Like what you've done with the lower level and it looks very substantial. It also appears you have a little furry helper in one of those pictures?

Great work so far, you are truly a Master of cardboard construction.
Your style is very innovative and fresh, I like where you are coming from and where you are going to, keep up the good work.
I shall follow this thread with keen anticipation.! Good job that man!!

Hi Mark
I'm happy about another comment from you. I think it is great that you give me tips, especially because I'm quite new here. Very nice, that you like my ideas and their implementation. In your final question I had a little smile. This furry helper appears frequently as he likes to cheat in photos. I hope you are looking forward to the end product.

Hi Rob
I appreciate your comment very much. Especially since you have also built a crazy and detailed reproduction of the 11th and 12th TARDIS as a model. I also thank you for your nice compliment. Thank you for coming with great anticipation.

Hello everybody
Before I show you progress, I would like to show you a picture that was sent to me by friends.
As you can see, Ikea will soon be selling a TARDIS too.   : D

June 6/7 2017
I started to build the entrance of TARDIS. I was inspired by a conceptual image, which can be found on Google images.

I also tried to rework a picture (# not sponsored / find with PhotoDirector [in Google Play Store]). And that has come about.

Actually, I wanted to have made more pictures, then to show them to you. However, I was so engrossed in the build, so I forgot to take more pictures. Well then you see only the end product of the entrance.

Next week, however, there will be more. And one thing I can tell you: it becomes huge (in 1 / 10th scale).

The14thDr

Beautiful work as always, manuel!

Now when do you start the full-scale version? ;)

Hi Manuel,
Thank you for your comment on my build, I am pleased that you think that it is crazy and detailed.
As to your build, she's coming together very nicely!
Great work on creating the entrance way from the piece of conceptual art, you've really captured it very well and it fits the rest of your design perfectly.
Keep up the good work!
Rob.

Hi 14th Doctor, Thanks for another comment from you. I've been thinking about maybe building the console in a 1: 1 scale. But it will probably only happen after I have finished the model. We see: D

Hello Rob
I am happy about your compliment to capture conceptual art well. But this conceptual image is not the only one I've tried to capture in my build. I've also used others that were found on Google and even tried to mix the TARDIS interiors that are on TV. You will see more of it in future updates from me. It is a bit very similar to the 12th doctor TARDIS console room also because it is my favorite of all.
