This is true and in my case the problem is heightened by a mental health condition so I worry more, I criticize my work more but no one on this forum is ever less than supportive and complimentary, I've never known a site like it to be honest. In fact I'd like to suggest a sort of positive Murphy's law to go at the end of the completed list -

Always remember, no matter what your build, the TARDIS Builders will be here for you.

Yup. My hat is off to the people that have the mix of skill, resources, and attention to detail to build the really nice boxes, but in my book, if you build something that is blue, taller than it is wide, has panels and windows and a door, a light at the top and some signage, you're a success.  Heck, even if you try and fail or your box eventually falls apart, you count as a TARDIS Builder.

Well, I already had chosen one of the "Laws" already mentioned as the "Final Law", but this one is good as well. (I'll put it as the next-to-last for now. Once the list goes up I can always switch things around if needed.)

This one's been kind of touched upon in other people's replies but as it reflects the excellence of a lot of the research on this site (and has happened to me more times than I care to remember), I'm adding:

You spend ages making a component look really great when a dazzling new piece of info turns up on the TB site proving you've made it the wrong size/shape/colour. Back to the drawing board.

Here's one: a collaboration between the14thdr and Cardinal Hordriss - well, sort of. Between the two I was able to put their comments into another Murphy's Law (so they get the credit for this one; I'm basically reposting it in here... and adding it to the list... the ever-growing list!).

"When photographing your build, depending on lighting and flash conditions, some of the details you put so much work into will not show up in your photos; however at other times in your photos, those practically invisible errors will show up like a sore thumb!"

Great ideas, guys! (I think this makes 64 Laws now.)

Did we mention the one about: "It doesn't matter what colour you paint your box, she'll look whatever colour she likes on the day."?

Or whatever color your camera likes that day!  Three pictures taken last night, same lighting, different tones of blue in each one.  Yet we still obsess over "Tardis Blue" at the paint counter.

As an aside, I will share "Mike's rule of home projects" with you:

Woodworking is always a 3x project.
Electrical work is always a 5x project.
Plumbing is always a 10x plus 3 project.
X is the multiplier on time and money you estimated.
3 is the number of extra trips to the hardware store for the part you forgot last time.

I think Tardis building qualifies, and I am only building a small model.  You full-size build folks have my utmost admiration and respect (and perhaps sympathy).

Well, not in so many words, but we do have these two that fall along that line:

20) The shade of blue you thought was "it", probably isn't.

21) No matter what shade of blue you choose, it will never be the blue you want. Further to the previous law, if you replace it with a different blue, it will still not be right. Your "blue" is unobtainable. Might as well paint the thing pink.

Those numbers are where the Laws fell on the list as I gathered them. I wasn't keeping track of who posted them, but they're up-thread somewhere.

Added in. (I did a shuffling of the numbers to try and group such Laws close together.) So now the count is 65 "Murphy's Laws of TARDIS Building". (How many more can we think of? )
