Today I painted the other door, and attached all of the detailing on them!

I then sanded and painted the right side wall:

Untill tomorow!

Luke, looking good.  Is it my eyes or does that wall look bowed at the bottom?

DoctorWho8

I think it's because the wall is in two halves, and therefore is able to bend in the middle more when it's laid down on something.

I agree with DOctor Who 8 about the bowing walls. My walls would do the same had I not used 9mm MDF (for the express purpose of making the panels feel hefty and solid).

Looking good! What door handles have you used? I'm using some from Wickes; they look good but I'm, not entirley convinced that they are best best readily available.
Isn't it how ironic that we have to think of solutions out of the box, in order to build our boxes a lot of the time?

Yep the walls are straight when on the box. It's just that I have sticking out bolts underneath, so it bows when painted like that.

They are chrome ones I found on e-bay, as that was the only source of chrome handles of two sizes I could find.

Today I played around with making windows, and finished then stuck on, my St. John Ambulance sign.

Luke, you're doing a great job here. You must go to a great school. If I had attempted a project like this at the school I went to, it would have been sabotaged/vandalised every day, and I would have been set upon every time I walked out of the workshop. I went to a fantastic aussie tech in the 80's.

This build looks fantastic!  I might just steal borrow a few of the construction techniques that you are using...   ;)

Can't wait to see it finished!

Nice St John Badge Luke, You have to be feeling pretty pumped up right now as you see her coming together. That Blue Paint moment is very special indeed.

Today I sanded and painted the roof. Still detail on the corners and the top lamp box to make, but those will be done/painted separately.

Amazing roof there Luke! I want to know how your gonna make the lamp though, and is the lamp going to flicker/flash?

Hey Luke,

Question on your corner posts. How many pieces of wood did you use to make it? From what I can see of the pictures, it looks like you used 3 pieces of 1 (or 2) X 6". 2 were used for the corners, and then the third was split down the middle to make the small section pointing into towards the middle of your Tardis.

Am I right?

...For school it will only be a static light, but when home I will make it flicker...

Four pieces of wood in a shape like this. The red is the wood, the black are wooden brackets, and the blue are walls.

Today I disassembled the old girl (in 15 mins), for filling the corner post gaps, sanding and soon painting.

More next week
