Hooray! nice pictures, AND - what's that to the left of the door, just under the window? Looks like a panel that's deeper than the others, and could have been made to house an external telephone... Have you a close-up of this, by any chance?

Fab! and if the door's open, perhaps you could look for clues within... And was there a shelf/desk on the left inside, or is the inside as empty as it looks in the pictures?

I'd like to think that it had an exernal telephone - it looks so telephone-box-y, like a cross between the Tardis and a red kiosk... Looks like it's in nice condition too.

Thank you domvar; 5 years is a long time to wait for someone to confirm what I thought; still, it was worth the wait. ;D

Perhaps we should do something to get it listed or protected in some way ?

I spotted this:-

To request that a building to be considered for listing or de-listing contact either of the following:

English Heritage National Programmes
1 Waterhouse Square
138-142 Holborn
London EC1N 2ST

Listing Branch
Department of Culture, Media and Sport
2-4 Cockspur Street
London SW1Y 5DH

I think we should apply for the listing of all the surviving boxes.

EDIT: Thread merged with previous thread on same Box.

I found this image whilst browsing the internet for pictures of Faversham, Kent. Although it's obviously not a Police-Box TARDIS it is obviously very interesting.... It is too be found at the first entrance to the industrial estate at Waterside Close on Faversham Creek, ME13 7AU (Latitude  51°19'17.98"N  -  Longtitude  0°53'39.62"E if you are interested.)

It's to be found on the route of the Saxon Shore Way in the coast of North Kent.

"The only good thing about the detour was the strange Tardis [sic] box I came across, guarding the access to the 'private' housing area and the industrial estate. If I was Doctor Who, I would abandon the little blue box for this one."

I would love to know what this little building was originally designed to do as it obviously predates the current industrial estate by quite a few decades. Anyone know?

Guesses from me:

It is a previously unknown Police Box/Shelter variant.

It's some sort of Guard House/Shack for whatever was previously on the estate.
