Honestly all my skill at Sketch Up is just playing around in it designing things I want but can't afford to buy... ;D   HOURS of playing around.

So 32 years ago when I was a lad in high school, a friend and I wanted to do a Doctor Who based comic book that took place in the same universe, but didn't focus on the Doctor.   We had a very pedantic name for it but some of the design work and character development was fairly solid.   In all my years of building in Sketch Up I really never tackled the TARDIS design we came up with in any meaningful way.  Until now...     Fellow Time Lords, I present to you for your viewing pleasure, the proto-type TARDIS known as the XP-5000

view of the console with controls in active mode.  Controls are holographic based and only authorized users can manipulate them.  Anyone not authorized, their hands pass through the controls and do not affect them.  Yes, the entire console is floating and not attached to the floor.   The green crystaline structure is part of the power systems according to our storyline.

Another view of the console, this time you can see the passageways into the rest of the interior.  There is a circular hallway just outside the console room itself.

View of the controls.  When we originally envisioned the console all those years ago Star Trek the Next Generation had come out and LCARS controls were what we decided on.  My current idea is that the controls are holograms floating just above the surface of the console.   If you are an authorized user, you can manipulate the controls.  If you aren't, you can't even touch them.  Under the controls there is a glass panel that illuminates from under when powered on.   In powered down mode the glass is unlit and black.  The controls can shift from panel to panel depending on need of the users.

View of one of the 6 scanner screens turned on.  Each Roundel is 8 ft in diameter.  Each one can be activated as a scanner screen for either the outside or the ship's systems.

In recent years I have reconnected with my friend and we have even thought about turning this into an animated webseries.  But life keeps getting in the way.  I hope you enjoy the design work if nothing else.
