Good News everyone, I've located a PA1 Police Pillar in the City of Hull.

Location: High street and Bishop Lane, Hull, HU1 1PA, UK
Geotag: 53.742879, -0.330882

I spotted it on flickr and took a google streetview walk around the city until I located it.
The original photographer only said it was near some museums.

If anyone is in or around Hull, I'd love to get a better look at it through photographs.
Especially the Lantern bit at the top, although only the base remains. The diamond grill and bell have disappeared.

However the Cast lettering on the Speaking Grill Door is interesting in itself, as it appears to be the only surviving example.
All the other confirmed surviving Pillars of this type have attached signs on the door.

Cheers.

Very fine! This is the type that was in my home town when I was a child - all vanished now of course so it's good to see one in situ, and long may it remain so. It looks safe behind its railing but it's not very well camouflaged!
