Same with the hole where the ping pong lamp was removed. That eventually got a knob on it too...

I'm saying nothing ;D *snigger*

Do you know if this arrangement from Inferno had changed since The War Games or would it have been the same?

Uh oh.

In this picture, the ping pong ball lamp assembly reminds me of something...  I'm off to see if I can find a reference picture...
My pilot's license? That's out back in the Cessna. Or perhaps you're referring to my license to kill. Revoked. Trouble at the Kazakhstan border.

I could give you the details but then I'd have to kill you, which I can't do because my license to kill has been revoked.

Best photo I can find so far (I know this one is a moulded part of the item itself), but you can see what I mean; this type of pull handle was always available seperately and would just mean (if you got the right size) popping a ping pong ball (or lamp?) inside.

Because to me, the pictures above make it look like the clear part and the housing are seperate.

Sorry to burst your bubble (though it IS a great idea if one wanted to modify the console to something more robust :))

But check out this image... (From the Aztecs...)

01x06-TheAztecs_01.jpg

As you can see already the paint has started to crack off...

Also from the same story you can see here that on the left hand panel things have already begun breaking off and on the one in front of us, one of the small balls has been replaced by a whacking great knob on that lever!!!!  :o

Do the switches beneath Bill Hartnell's fingers have circular or edged surrounds?

My work so far.. I've resorted to doing bits and bobs rather than trying to complete each panel as I go, due to ungoing and useful  discussions pertaining to what goes where :D

Please ignore the bump mapping.. that'll be sorted once everything is in place.

That's the shot I was talking about!  Didn't notice before about the original "door control" panel from Unearthly that the two top ball switches broke, giving a preview for the later Troughton era.

Darn! I was very pleased with my nice shiny light..

But then, after reviewing screen caps from the War Games, I realised it had changed!!

   I think D'oh! Is appropriate.

That console is coming on a treat :)

Thanks. I'm just about ready to work on the central column (I hesitate to say Time Rotor as that always causes arguments :D)

This is really looking excellent. It could use more light though?

It is rendering a wee bit dark, and I'm not sure why. But thanks for your praise, Crispin. And more improtantly, thank you for the plans on your site which I have been following :D

Does anyone know what the original console would have been made out of? I'm guessing wood. I want to make sure I get the texturing right.
