Nice post. You are indeed on your way to a great collection there. What editions do you have? It may help others to track down the Covers in question. Also I am typing a lot because the forum has informed me I am reaching the limit of my acceptable number of short posts. (where do I get more short posts? is it like paying a congestion charge like in Top Gear?)

I was trying to Identify the book Romana has in Shada when she is in the Gondola.

but so far I can't find a good image with the cover.

The Victim by Saul Bellow

It's mostly intended to stop people treating the forum like a chatroom, or cruising around writing 'cool!' on the end of a dozen build diaries. But there are times when someone is busy contributing a lot of substantial posts in a day (as you do) when some of them will naturally be short.

I'll see if I can get the forum to take some sensible account of that and give people more leeway in that situation. A post with a picture in it is exempted already.

It does seem to have been effective with a few coffee-addicts we've had around here, though. :D :o

Thank you Crispin. I'm more of a visual person myself it is sometime hard to string two words together. But I try to have a positive contribution here.

Can't make out the actual day - but if the Titanic sunk in the middle of the night (11:40 pm ships time) on the 14th I doubt it would have been in the papers the next day. Plus that doesn't look like A "15".

April 16th, as that's a reprint of the Daily Mirror that was published back in the day:

How could anyone forget this one.. but I guess its just a reprint :)

JoITPublished2.jpg

This came from someone on the Prop Replica forum. They had posted a link to a larger PDF version but I didn't get to the link fast enough :(

Someone else is doing a large version of the Melody Malone cover (the correct one. not the BBC published version with the DW logo on it)

Oh yes, how could we forget those.

I'm working on a bunch of others that appear fleetingly in the same scene with roughly 8 seconds each onscreen. Very obscure but I hope it makes someone laugh.

EDIT: Here we are...

Here's my three

7books_nagel.jpg

Doctor in the House is the 22nd impression which dates (according to the first few pages) July 1954. Published by Michael Joseph.

The Doctor's Dilemma is described as one of a uniform set of ten volumes of Bernard Shaw's work to commemorate his 90th birthday, July 26 1946. Published by Penguin Books, of course.

The Time Machine, as you have described already, published 1931 by Random House.
