I use a program called Kerkythea to allow me to export from Sketchup so I can render in 3D. Site has some nice material libraries to use and it's free.

Check it out here: http://www.kerkythea.net/cms/

For doing just a console or other individual pieces, you may want import them into a sketchup studio you can download from the 3D Warehouse:

I will warn you, rendering can take a few minutes or several hours, depending on the size and complication of the render.

oh, very nice! Love your changes, especially how the console column has those green translucent tubes for the time rotor, and the green circles in the wall roundels.

I like the details in the corner arranged around the Tall Case Clock, the tea cup and saucer a very nice touch on the chest and on the other side a stack of books, very cozy and comfortable! However, the small square rug underneath the other corner of the chest I feel should be turned so it lines up with the edge of the console platform, the corner looks cut off by the wall.

i've decided to have another go at the room, as it didn't quite fit, I've decided to use inspiration from some old fashioned studio lights. just imagine a warm orange glow emitting from them  headlamps shot.png
