Hi guys, I'm new to this forum and was hoping yal could help me. I'm looking at 3d printing a 3d model of the console and making it like this figure concept which was actually aimed at the 3inch range but I'm looking at doing it for the 5inch range and need to know dimensions. Like does anyone know what i the height and width should be? That kinda stuff is the things I'm stuck on. console.jpg

There is a paper version of a 5.5" model available here: http://www.aftdownloads.co.uk/11/TARDIS/index.htm

That might be of some use in obtaining the right dimensions

Hi Simon83,
I have to agree with jezmiller, the AFT Tardis set is an excellent starting point from which to start scaling your 3d print.
That said however, I personally thought the the main console floor was a bit cramped, the side consoles were too small and so I redrew them and increased the size of the main console floor diameter to 400mm, to give a little wiggle room.
Especially as once you start to build the main console, which itself is quite large, then the 2 side consoles, which have an awful lot of bits on them and the side console chairs, space gets very tight, very quickly, relatively for each item.
If you require anymore information with regards to the console sizes etc, I would be more than willing to email you the dimensions or drawings that I used in the construction of my 11th Doctor Tardis.
Not saying that they perfect, as there was an awful lot of trial and error comparing screen grabs, pictures, video and other reference material for scale and proportion on both the main console, side console chairs and the side consoles.
I hope that this small piece of information helps in some way, just let me know if I can be of any further help with the rest.
Rob.

Thanks, Rob, I might have to take you up on that offer. Your tardis is simply stunning and is what i wish to do however with a detachable other side for big interior pics and etc.

why doesn't the Guide mention them? - Oh, it's not very accurate.
Oh? - I'm researching the new edition.

Been a while. Properly started on this. Console is now printed out. Now just trying to sort the rings out. Its getting there. The amount of concentration needed for the EL wire is nuts. And this is just a test fit lol

Lovely build! Can you use clear acrylic tubes to keep the neon tube parts straight?

Sadly not. Anything bigger and it looks outta place. This is just a test fit for now. When it comes to it being more done. Im gonna tighten them and use Hot Glue so its more secure and straight.

Been a lil bit. Also been busy lol. The console is now painted. Not perfect. But im pretty happy. Wish the flesh sensor thing had turned out better. I think I need to make the file a tad deeper. Rings fully printed out. Trying to do a lil touch up here and there to make that seam less visible. Got some xmas lights for the rings. Got the ring light caps on print. Monitors are printed. Just gotta do the handles.
