Damaged Yardley-Jones Box on Children in Need

Hi there, I was just looking at some clips of Children in Need 1985 and thought some of you would be interested in these screen caps of the TARDIS prop that arrives in studio.

It's got a very nasty crack across the sign box and appears to have been given a hasty paint job, in a lighter blue colour than the rest of the box...

aha a mystery explained ,why didnt they just make a new sign ? ,well it is good that she was repaired wounder how it hapened?

Thanks for posting this, now this explains why the prop had the extra sign box cladding in season 19 / 20... to cover the damage! Do you mind if I copy these images to my computer? I won't do it until you say so.

PS. I see this was taken from 1985, so it looks like the cladding on this sign box has come away - they're still on the other sides, so what I reckon is that sometime around 1982 / 1983 the sign was broken, they reclad it and here in 85 it snaps off again and they do a quick repair job.
