Conceptual Geometer Relay

Shada 1979 Season 17 Story 109

(Chronotis puts down the wrench and takes off his spectacles. He stares hard into Clare's eyes.)
CHRONOTIS: Now, what is that piece of equipment?
CLARE: This? Er, it's a conceptual geometer relay, with an agronomic trigger, a totally defunct field separator. But it doesn't matter. We can dispense with it if we can get that interfacial resonator working again.
CHRONOTIS: Splendid!
CLARE: Well, let's do that then, shall we?

So there are two of these in the program. They look an awful lot like these:

why doesn't the Guide mention them? - Oh, it's not very accurate.

I agree with Chris! That one with the chrome shackle is pretty much a ready-made Conceptual Geometer as is. The one with the clear (perspex?) shackle just needs to have the shackle roughed up enough to hold paint, and then paint the shackle chrome (or high-gloss black as it looks in some of those grabs).

Great find, indeed, Nate, and thank you for getting and posting those reference images for us!

I've ordered one of each. Maybe one day we can track down the original the prop is based on, but then again I think I'll be happy with these.

Mine arrived today, as a bit of extra detail I added a copper coil around the shackle to make it look a bit less padlocky.

Please add a picture. I'm sure we would all appreciate it.  :D

Sorry if the pics aren't great, full of cold and quite shaky.

I agree with Nate. Those photos are pretty sharp for being "shaky". (If you were in top form and those photos were any sharper, you would cut yourself on them! ;D) And that copper coil looks really cool. Nice touch!

I got mine the other day with the lock pick tool set. Another prop to add to the shelves/collection.  :) ;)

Found a whole bank of those "Conceptual Geometer Relaies" or whatever they are.
Kind of reminds me of the linkages seen in large Nixie tubes.
