I'd understood that the golden colouration was a result of age. They've tarnished...

This could be very true especially if they were sprayed over with a dulling agent of some kind to minimize glare from studio lights. I have a model that had silver panels painted on it, and I'd sprayed it with a "Dullcoat" to help protect the decals once they went on. That was in 1987. That model still exists, albeit in need of some repair, but those silver panels are now looking goldish because that "Dullcoat", which was clear at the time, has yellowed over the decades.

They probably didn't think of using some non-yellowing dulling agent back then. Most modellers probably didn't. They might not even have had non-yellowing gloss, satin, or matte coatings back then. So the "gold" look could be from the yellowing of a matte coating that's, well, tarnished, so to speak.

Do you mean in real life or the as a plot point? The Silver Nemesis guns have tarnished with age in the real world (The same way the Cybermen Helmets and chestplate have), but the guns look painted to me...

I'm fairly sure this alien text never appeared on the original props.
But it still might be fun to replicate it. ;D

Sevans Models also used to make cyber helmets, chest units and cyber guns in the late 1980s.

Observing the Mooncrest Models website they have various 80's Cyberparts. Some of them are hard to find on the Mooncrest site so the links are here for reference purposes.

Remember the originals were not made from kits.

Do we have definitive(ish) plans for these?

warmcanofcoke

No, not at present. But I think we would all like one.  :D

Those last two are actually from post 2005 Dalek guns, rather than the Silver Nemesis Cyberguns
