Well, I don't suppose they can put a hugely heavy concrete box inside on a wooden floor... so another Once Upon... Box, it seems!  Also of note is the back lintel sign has been removed, as the box is flush against the window frame there....

(photo incorrectly labelled as the TARDIS by a friend...)

Some time in the 70s we went up to London to visit relatives in the Hendon area.  I had heard there was a box outside the Police College so I persuaded my parents to let us take a detour.

Here's the 4 pics I managed to take (I think I was intimidated by the policeman).

Am I right that this box is now in Crich Tramway Museum?

Nope, the Crich Box is from somewhere around Ealing Broadway area.  Hendon did, for a while, have a "Once Upon A Way" fibreglass replica box on display inside somewhere; but that's now longsince gone as well.

Initially thought it may be the wooden demo/training one (can be seen on TARDIS Library), but the more I look, the more I have to agree with you Dale, its looks more akin to the Wetherby type box.

Hey, loads of stuff that I can answer today - yes, you've guessed it - this is a Once Upon a Way replica... in fact, it's one of the first batch they made.

I used to be in regular contact with this company in the early 90s and the chap, whose name I can't remember now, said that Hendon assisted them with some reference material and ended up buying one of the replicas for their display.

Did the original Hendon wooden 'training' box ended up in the police museum in Bow Street? - but that closed ages ago so perhaps the box is still in storage somewhere...?
