I literally took hundreds of pictures of the car, from all sorts of angles. The guy who owns it was a lovely bloke, with lots to say about the cars history since he took ownership of it :)

Great pics Steve. I had intended to take some decent ones but the baby had other ideas!

So I did see you from afar and didn't get a chance to introduce myself but no doubt we'll cross paths again.

There's a great video about the car on the classicdw twitter account which includes a snap of the designer draping himself over the finished vehicle. Unless someone beats me I'll grab it and stick it here.

WOW! I don't even know where to begin! Great photos, and great job taking so many! (Feel free to post more any time you like! ;D)

Thank you so much for sharing these with us, Steve! (And you, too, David and Tony, for sharing those other sneaky photos!)

Dino.
P. S. It even has a 'Batphone' in it!

Not quite a Batphone Dino, more standard GPO red!!

Ah... Tony... in the States, just about any red phone - even if it's only the handset - is affectionately referred to as a "Batphone". (It's just the color, not so much the style. ;))

I just took another close look at the Instrument Panel, and noticed the speed gauge (it looks more like a gauge than a "speedometer") above the driver's wheel is labeled in "MPH" rather than "kPH". Does anyone know if this was original or a mod? Was the "miles" per hour system in use in the UK back when this beauty was built? I always thought it was "kilometers" per hour back then, or so they told us in school, which would have put the timeframe around 1973. (Of course the school I went to had the habit of lying to us when it suited them; they also told us that by the time we were ready to graduate high school - which would have been pre-1980 - the US was going to be "all metric system": a scare tactic they used to make us work harder to learn the conversions. That school used scare tactics a lot on us; oh, the horror stories I could tell!)

I also noticed that speed gauge goes up to 130 or 140 MPH before it "pegs". Maybe that beauty can make speeds like that given the chance and the space in which to do it, but I wouldn't want to approach anywhere near that speed on four wheels, much less only three!

The UK has always used MPH rather than the KPH, its the rest of Europe that uses Kilometers. The UK likes to be different...:D

I was looking at the speed gauge when I was there, and I think some how its a fake, or at least not exactly accurate. It looks too "hand-made". If it is a fake, i'm not entirely sure how that allows the car to be "road-legal"

You know, I just realized the Doctor I'm that cartoon looks more like Capaldi than Pertwee--and the TARDIS looks more like the 2014 prop than the 1973 prop. Maybe that cartoon is from the future & should have a spoiler warning! ;)
