Sorry, I mean how long did it take the program to render your images?

I'm not sure what you mean.   I drew it with the mouse and did all the texturing with the tools provided.   Then I just exported it as a 2-D jpg.   The drawing time took a while as I ignored the tutorial in favour of trying to get a feel for the controls.

So it didn't take a long time to export then?

I should probably just download the program and see what it does. The one I've used the most is Bryce, which is all wireframe until you tell it to render the image. Some pictures can take hours to process depending on how detailed they are. I'm guessing Sketchup must render in realtime so it doesnt take any time at all?

Sorry if I'm confusing you, lol  ;D I may download it and try it tomorrow!

Now that you explained about the wireframe I sort of understand better.   Sketch-up uses wireframe if you want it to but not if you do not.  And yes exporting it takes almost no time.  I am calling it my starter program.  LOL!!!   ;D  Hopefully I will eventually get into other more detailed 3-D programs.  Worked on something very cool last night (even though I shouldn't have).  Hopefully I will have something new to show off in a few days.  I am only working on thing a little at a time.  Also I am using the tutorial now so maybe what I am producing will look better.  LOL!!!  ;D

Well some more time has gone by and I have played around a bit more.  Honed my skills with the program and changed a few things around.  Still got loads to do but I am now headed in a direction I really like.  So, here is where I am at currently.

This last shot is similar to the first but you can see more of the glass roof.

Hope you all like it.   ::)  Doing my best so far.  Still have refused to watch the tutorial though.  LOL!!!! ;D

Nice mix of various consoles and interior designs there.

Once you learn all the tools you can start turning out blueprints and photorealistic renders. Keep up the good work, I especially like the stained glass windows.

You should put the Seal of Rassilon in the hexa-roundel above the doors ;)

Funny you should say that.  That is EXACTLY what is meant to go above the egress doors.  As to the other doors to the interior, well I want to put above them the Time Lord seal as seen in "Sound of Drums".   There are actually 2 sets of doors leading further into the interior, the ones I have drawn out and the ones in the wall you are looking through.

Oh and I finally found my Fault locator!!!!   Instead of having a whole room off the console room I rather like the idea of this little thing.

It is an old ticker tape machine.  I think that I want to have it on a small column in the corner.   Now I just need to draw it into the room.

Great minds think alike! Can't wait to see the finished product  :)

Amazing work, man!  You have inspired me.  I downloaded the program and started drawing a console, then a console room, then a police box front and I just can't stop adding rooms.  I even have five out of ten doctors in the tardis.  Can you tell me how you post pictures from your 3-d drawing?

I export the 3D into a 2D format and then dump it into my photobucket account.  Then I just copy the IMG code and paste it here.

funny you should mention the Police Box front...

I used a wood texture edited to blue and an asphalt texture edited to blue.

here is a long shot of the same.
