Well I have finally stated my Tardis, that is with the help of this site. I am about three weeks into the build and hope to start the painting this weekend. I am trying to keep to the build plans but have modified to help protect for weather. I raised the center of the floor for drainage and over locked the roof to protect rain intrusion and giving a air gap for ventilation. I am building the Tardis with my sons and having a great time. I am also enjoying watching others on this site with their build great job keep it up.

When I get all the Electronics working inside I hope to use it to pop down to the pub and back. that way no DUI's.
I was wondering how you got the bar inside but I remembered that it is bigger inside than out.

Chuck,

Are those Alpaca's?

Very Very solid build you have there! I can see you have a good background in wood working. I wish I would have seen your build before I did mine. I could have used many of your ideas.

I really like the way you secured the panels. I might change my connectors and use your idea.

Great Build!

Thanks for the words of encouragement, some just think I am nuts. At least my wife is behind me. as for my helpers they are Lamas and they are very nosy. I need some advice should the Police sign be black or blue, I seem to see both. I would like to keep it as close to the original as possible.
I also posted some new pictures and added captions to help understand what is happening.

If you want more of the original TARDIS prop look, go with black signs.

I would suggest that its more DAAAAAAAAARK blue than completely black...
In the cities in the streets there's a tension you can feel,
The breaking strain is fast approaching, guns and riots.
Politicians gamble and lie to save their skins,
And the press get fed the scapegoats,
Public Enema Number One.

Splendid build! And so quick! It took me most of six months to get that far.
I'm glad to see  you have the weather protection in hand - the TARDIS may be indestructable, but wood isn't...

Also glad to see the traditional step-ladder shot,  :D

I have been looking over other build and I am amazed at work and love that seem to go into these builds. I am blessed with the weather and of course that pack animals that help with the build. looking at trying to build without a work shop and to fight the weather would have cost a lot of time and effort that is so hard to come by. this weekend I was able to get the first coat of paint on and it looks a little scary, the first coat is not right I hope the second coat corrects that. I hope the insights I got from this forum saves me some of the damages from the weather and time.
I will keep posting the progress.

Chuck,

It is absolutely stunning what you have accomplished in such a short time.

I think the paint looks good on the Doors but I agree it doesnt seem right on the roof and the posts. Did you primer first? I dont see evidence of primer if so is it possible the Pine is soaking up the paint causing the discoloration?

Keep up the great work! I cannot wait to see a picture of the Llama's next to the TARDIS!

Also KARMA POINT For you!

Scott, good eye on the Alpaca's... or shall I saw Llama's.
Make sure you post a photo of the TARDIS outside with a pack of Llama's...

Chuck, I like what I am seeing here.  Your build is fabulous and progressing very nicely.  I see that there is some bleeding of the undercoat through the blue.  You may need to put a couple coats of blue of this.  The blue paint moment is a price moment when it comes to TARDIS building.  Keep those snaps coming...
