Its just there for now so when we plan out what we have to do next we will not be missing any lengths. I will be trimmed and cut after.

Quote from: primrodo board=build thread=1154129074 post=1160413997Thanks guys! Timber ordering is a few months away sadly still...We are going to calculate exactly what I need materials wise, cost it out and budget for it. This winter is the likely candidate for the build start, and then hopefully plenty of time before the Summer completion for TT21.

Material wise as seen above I have alot of the hardcore parts, and in some cases I have two, like two lanterns right now ;) I think I have covered what I need to as far as things from the UK are concerned and now I just need to work on the base components and hardware, like hinges and screws ;)

Signs is something I do want to get in on soon as well, but I'll need to track somewhere locally I think for nice Police box signs and the metal Pull to Open one. Unless anyone has a good source for the PTO?

The Phone is a challenge too. I have sent ideas to Jon in the past, nothing really close to the actual Phone, so I am considering asking my uncle on that too and purchase the extra parts liek the reciever, bells and knobs to add in and make a custom non working phone.

I'll definatley be loving the day the lumber arrives and we start cutting. I am loving your build Jon as well, so I cannot wait to be there with doors!

It wouldn't be too hard to gut a working phone and put it into your prop phone :) I remember modifying a phone when I was 16 and I put an extra speaker onto it and made a (very crude) headset with a coathanger and masking tape...

The only place where it all went wrong was when I removed the phone pad and then it ceased to work...  :(

Woo hoo new progress!

We got the third wall done and the base bevel cut. We put it up to see how it was looking as well :)

We have yet to put in the door jambs, so the walls will sit in a little more. The corners will have the detail added in after  as opposed to routered in...not super accurate but good enough for me :)

The tops of the walls will be cut right at the top pine detail for those curious :)

Getting ever so much closer!

Tuesday we are going to fit the front door jambs and the doors which will also be made then.

Now for the pics!

Goodness me, you're storming along there! That's a lot of progress in not very much time - you could be heading for a record.
And it looks good!

Thanks guys!

Crispin...Target is actually July 6th.. :) Wish me luck eh!

Chris...just a couple ;) After I get my new 10 costume made who knows ;)

Thanks alot guys!

My major concern right now is signs so I hope to find a good sourse for plexi (windows and signs) and go from there... Getting metal for the pull to open sign will be easy enough :)

I hope...

Ok well not as far along as I thought...but update anyway.

Today we finished the base...and as you will note we did it in a funny way  :P But it will be filled and sanded so no worries!

Also we routered the inside edges and it looks great! my wife did not get a full picture but you will see anyway! We just need tro chisel them straight but they took no time at all!

It just looks that much more like a TARDIS now!

Tuesday I am supposed to be meeting up with him and starting on the jambs and doors but we shall see!

Here are the pictures I have so far:

Doors!

We got the doors completed and test fitted with a test door jamb, next Tuesday should be a more permanant jamb on all the walls and the doors.

Some fun pictures for scale, look and fun, but I am very excited!

You should get a pic of yourself working on it in all seriousness using the sonic screwdriver

Thank you guys :) It has been alot of fun for everyone, especially as I am making a household of fans :)

I will try and get a couple good Sonic Screwdriver shots for you guys ;)

However!

I do have some updates....Nothing in the building department however.

My wife today finally got my metal sign in at my dimentions and pre-drilled to boot, its galvinized steel, pretty good I think, though I am not super knowledgeable in these things.

So yesterday in preperation for this I grabbed silver spray paint and made my vinyl letters at work, hand weeded the whole thing and almost lost an E in Telephone!

Today I spray painted the plate in my handy dandy converted broken BBQ into Spraypaint enclosure. I then let it dry and then took my dremel and ground out the weathering details as closely as I could get it. Painted it lightly again and let it dry for an hour or so and then applied my vinyl letters....

I must say it looks fantastic and I am blown away!

What do you guys think?
