Wow, TARDIS reference material galore in tonight's episode.  Screencaps coming soon. :)

Scarfwearer

Can you keep caps from different areas of the TARDIS in separate posts on this topic? We may well want to split this topic later and it will make it a lot easier if we don't have to split posts as well...

Also, please don't use
Spoiler
[close]
tags on *this* particular topic, as it's already under global spoiler control (hence the red octagonal spoiler mark on the home page). When we switch that off, or split it, the staff will have to go back through all the separately spoilered posts and remove the redundant spoiler tags...

Many thanks

Crispin

Can do. :)

Ha, you can see where the door button had been glued on for other sequences.

Extra rep to kingpin for all these stills....

Bonus rep for the first person to build the engine room or the library (virtual and scale models don't count) ;)

Quoting from someone named Pam (okay - paraphrasing, trying to keep things clean): "Holy poo snacks!" :o Such clear images, so many of them, and so much going on in them! Seriously amazing work, Kingpin, and so fast on the draw. Well done!

And yes; the wife and I thought the same thing about that umbrella as soon as we saw it.

Other than that I'm totally speechless. ;)

The library was perfect.  Just like how it was described in the old Virgin New Adventures and Big Finish audios.  And notice how the connection bars to the monitors change. In once scene they are curved, in others they are straight.  And the Eye of Harmony still exists!  It's not accessed the same way as in the TVM, but it's definitely impressive.  Loved the episode.  I had to rewind several times when the echos of the TARDIS were coming forth as the console was getting a panel removed.

These shots of the construction are most impressive, wow they spent a fortune on this in steel alone! Are there more?

That's all there is from the Behind the Scenes mini-doc.  Hopefully we'll see a more detailed documentary on the new Console Room on the DVD release.

Ah you've already uploaded the construction pictures :) here is a open view of under the console deck

No roundels made me sad :(

Oh, there were a couple of roundels here and there. Not a couple on every wall (as in "The Doctor's Wife"), and certainly nowhere as prolific as they were in the Classic Series, but there were still "a few" like those in the new console room on the deep-inside walls. (But I do agree - a few more would have been welcome and really cool to see.)

And yeah... as Bill said: this is one to be watched several times just to catch the things you missed the last few times. (I won't say what they were, just to add intrigue to the spoiler factor for those who haven't seen the episode yet, but I will say this: listen very carefully, and they will make you smile.)

I almost wish this was a two-parter!

Woah, finally got the remainder of those images working.  Hope I don't have to upload such a big collection in one sitting again.

Still, the sheer amount of reference material from this one episode is somewhere close to 3-4x the amount we've previously seen, and some really nice close-up details of the Console.

A splendid episode/story. :)

Coming from someone who's posted a butt-load of images while transcribing the TVM Console Restoration, I can say it's better to post large collections of images like this in smaller "installments". It may mean making two or three posts, but at least you get to take a break while still getting all of the images that you want posted. (It also helps with the amount of time it takes for the page to load; smaller installments let things load faster.)

So it's a win, win, win: you get all images posted; you get a break while posting; and pages load faster.

And once again (and I think I speak on behalf of every member here) a huge THANK YOU! to Kingpin for his great efforts in getting this treasure trove of reference material, not only in the screen grabs, but also in posting them!
