Something I've been working on, to celebrate the 50th anniversary.

Hey, that's pretty detailed - I'm suitably impressed :)
In the cities in the streets there's a tension you can feel,
The breaking strain is fast approaching, guns and riots.
Politicians gamble and lie to save their skins,
And the press get fed the scapegoats,
Public Enema Number One.

Brilliant - I can't wait to see what lies behind the gates!

I like how there is a depth in that side alley and a round portal in the wall that shows the street behind.

Really pulls you in to this world :)

Then it's working as designed!  Thanks :)

Next thing to add is "the English fog" that's so "mysterious" ;)

I tried for fog a few times, nothing satisfactory yet.

Not surprised, particle effects are not the easiest thing to deal with. I tried making clouds once... Man that was a long time ago..........

that's pretty good for what little information there is out in the public.

What software package are you using? I know lightwave has a very effective ground fog built in.

deck5

POV-Ray 3.7 beta.  There's some decent fog effects available, but they tend to obscure the detail a little too severely for my liking.  Still fiddling with it.

Rassilons Rod

POV Ray?!?? I had no idea that was still around! It was POV Ray that introduced me to 3D, although in those days it had more in common with programming. There was no GUI or direct object manipulation... :D

I remember it well, I was using it under DOS way back in the day.  There's an IDE now, but it still operates the same way, with a scene definition language.  All text.

Rassilons Rod

What's an IDE? :)

You're still programming it? Ö_Ö

Integrated Development Environment.  Yes, still writing POV-Ray code.  I'm a programmer from way back, so it suits me.  They've enhanced the language over the years.

I guess it's a bit like MEL code in Maya. My understanding is the whole program is built on it. So all the buttons, tools, menus, everything is made using MEL, which means if Maya doesn't have it you can make it. If you can do MEL. I've never really been a programmer so I've never got into it. I've also heard there aren't many MEL programmers around, people want to just model, I guess :D
