Chronotis Capsule

.... so a while back a friend sent me a link to a Tardis Stash Box....
and i got to thinking..... and after some thinking....
i gave it a go....

the model i choose to do is the 1966 Altered Brachacki Tardis....
the one that the 2nd, 3d and 4th Doctors rocked....
its at 1/8" to 1" scale.... it is made of Black Walnut throughout....
the top signage and the front placard (not shown) are brass.... ShinyShiny....
my plan is to have these engraved at a jeweler (or some such trade) with the appropriate typeset....
i have yet to tackle the top lamp... but it will also be done with brass as well as glass...
i have yet to decide if i want to cut out the top panels for the traditional window details or....
if i just want to add the mullions to the wooden panels....
i think i prefer to not have the glass in the windows... but... then again.... IDK....

anyway.... here is my progress to date...

That looks rather lovely!

I think if it was me, from an aesthetic point of view I'd want to make the windows dark, maybe with a wood stain or even some black art card. Just an idea...

Would love to see some more construction photos if you have any.

Sorry Crispin... i do not have any more construction photos...
i will try to be more fastidious about documenting as i continue work....
and i do agree...
i need to treat the top panels as windows somehow....
fabricating the mullions for the windows out of a darker wood has crossed my mind...
