You may recognise the space helmets as they are the same design as the ones in the ambassadors of death

Thats the Shenley Road Police Box, S10.

Heres the same location today: (you can see the shops to the left, the road junction (now a mini roundabout) and the building with the chimneys on the right.

The series was filmed at the Elstree film and television studios Elstree, which is now BBC Elstree (Home of EastEnders) which, if you move the street view forward to the mini roundabout, is located just off Clarendon Road (left of the mini roundabout)

The box would have been located roughly in this location:

This should be merged with the other S10 Shenley Road thread. Its interesting to note that post war, the area was extensively redeveloped, with a lot of 50's 60's shops being built along the roadside. Its amazing to think its the same location, it looks so different!

Ill add the picks to the s10 thread when i get home the plan is to keep the media appearances seperate. Though i belive that SW is looking at a way to link them.

I've added the linkage. You can fill in a box number when you make or edit the first post, and any linked topics will be listed with the box when you look at it in the database.

Am I seeing things? Looks to me as if either this is a relatively steep hill and we are looking down on the Box, or the Box has been tilted a bit off its base, towards camera. Seems like there's just too much top of the roof showing here.

Considering the timing, could this Box possibly be in the process of being removed? Removal date is listed as 01 Sep 1970, while the airdate for the episode was 28 Nov 1970.

BTW, it was Episode 12, not Episode 1 - per what program guides I could find.

I believe the space helmets and space suits were made by Jack and John Lovell for Moon Zero Two (1969).

I notice that the A.R.W. Siren is gone as well. It should be right behind it --

It might also be my imagination, but besides appearing to be tilted a little towards camera, it looks like perhaps there is something wrapped around it above the line of the windows and just under the sign boxes. It looks like pipe or some other structure.

It would be positively freaky to have had this scene shot right when it was in the process of being removed, but it does look a bit odd and the timing is a little too close to ignore.

There is also a man who appears to be down a hole directly in front of the box, I think your right I'll see if I can grab any more evidence from the clip itself.  So earlier on in the ep this shot appears but I think it was filmed later as no box.

the box appears in long shot, in Episode one, "Tiger Takes Off", appearing roughly in the position Domvar has highlighted. Its on screen for less than a second. (and on a 52 inch screen, the definition is terrible LOL)
