Loving this project. Coming along in great strides. can't wait to see more. Great work.
why doesn't the Guide mention them? - Oh, it's not very accurate.
Oh? - I'm researching the new edition.

the mister

Oh, I thought it was going to be based on the Matt Smith Console... :( well in any case, it sure looks neat.

whovian-almighty

It originally was, but with such specific angles that I couldn't even figure out i felt it was too risky to waste wood in trying, the console will be my own design but will have echos of past console's :)
So, all of time and space, everything that ever happened or ever will, where do you want to start?

Well the snow is back again  ::) and I was working on the TARDIS but I got to the stage where it was too cold to work! so came back into the house and started to work on the controls in here (it's much warmer  ;D ) yesterday I decided if I can't build the console in the TARDIS, I'll bring the TARDIS here! so took 2 panels off the console and brought them to the house so I can start work on them  :) and here are some progress pictures, no controls are screwed down just placed there for test fits :) I have also decided to redo the windows, the original windows that are on the Police Box doors arn't too good, I cringe every time I see them! the build of the windows was quite a weak build, so I decided to remake them, this time using thicker wood. I created 4 window frames 2 for each door, then placed a sheet of perspex (spray painted black on one side) and sandwiched them between the two sets of frames creating sturdy and strong windows with bars on the inside and out, pictures are below :) thanks for looking guys! shall keep you posted  :)

I am totally digging this build.  You are inspiring me to start cutting wood for a project now!  I love the beginnings of the panels. They  are awesome. What sort of color scheme is this going to have when it's done? Any thoughts on your time rotor?

whovian-almighty

It will be a mixture of varnished wood and silver/metal, I do indeed have the time rotor planned :) the perspex arrived this morning so I can start the time rotor when ever now  :) thank you for you comment  ;D

I actually really dig the look of the screws in the panels, though I doubt you intend to keep them. Sounding interesting indeed. I do like custom builds.

Ill be keeping some screws on parts of the panel as it gives it a more machinery feel to it

It's been a while hasn't it! didn't realize this long, sorry for the lack of updates, last month one of my pets passed away, I've had 2 weeks break (one when my pet died and the other last week) last weekend I also attended a Convention in Birmingham called Memorabilia to which I go every time, so a lot of set backs, sometimes real life gets in the way but I have come very far in my build since my last update.

For starters the roof is now completed, shes water tight and has had the sheets off her exposed to rain and snow for a month now and shes fine with it :D

altered the doors slightly by adding a slammer bar and the new windows of in place

the console is, well almost finished! with a ceiling high time rotor, pull down monitor the console is really coming on nicely!

started to put the hexagons on the walls now and it's really coming together, had a huge tidy up and clean out and my gosh it's so much bigger on the inside!

some photos to show you the progress  :)

Thank for looking guys will sure to keep you updated :)

Everything is looking really great so far! I really like that light above the door. (Is that an exact copy of the one above the door from Series 5? If so, where did you get the pattern to follow, or did you just eyeball it? It looks brilliant!)

And that fist photo looking out from the inside, before I realized that it was a yard with lighting decorations in it, I half expected to see Auntie, Uncle, and Nephew standing in the background! (It must have been the way those lights' brightness gave the yard that same sort of glow that was on House.) Very cool image!

whaaaaaat! suuuuuper cool. you're really going all out. that head unit is well impressive! are you gonna light up and encase the rotor? I kinda figured you'd go with the new series design considering it was more like your console. but only negative thing I have to say is... Gray? isn't that a bit glum? not even the tv tardis is gray. It's silver and blue. but then again, it's your Tardis and you should make it whatever colour you enjoy it being

Really well done.

WOW!  Love what's going on here. I want to see more of the console in your next shots. I like that you made this your own! In the Doctor's world of infinite possibility, it's great to see people doing custom work :)

whovian-almighty
