Hi all
I'm sure I've seen a thread with this beastie in, but I just can't find it.
Being a sixth Doctor cosplayer (Yes, I know  ::) ) the beautiful sonic screwdriver I own is, of course, an anachronism, so I thought I'd try and replicate the sonic lance instead
This is a Krone tool that I used to use back in my HV cable jointing days and I'm sure (Knowledge found on here) it's the basis of the lance

There isn't many photos of the actual prop, but I did find this render on a google search

If anyone here is the graphic artist responsible for it, I apologise for reproducing it, but hey, it's going to be part of my reference for the build :)
The plan is to incorporate the sound and light feature from the toy tenth Doctor sonic screwdriver, only substituting the blue for a red light filter.
Wish me luck

Good luck :)

(must be terrible being a sonicless Doctor :( )

I've also seen portable-rechargeable soldering irons that had a near-perfect match to the shape of the sonic lance. (And again something I wish I'd snagged while on active duty, working with electronics, and had access to quite a few of these!) Here are just a few (depending on your budget one of these might work):

http://www.iso-tip.com/products-page/smart-solder-series/quick-charge-soldering-iron-iron-only-7750/ (the least expensive so far)

Some are the same models with different prices from different companies. (The last one looks to be the best match for the shape, and it's not at a bad price.)

Hopefully this is a little helpful.

I am the artist of the graphic you found. It's actually a screen capture of a digital 3D model I intend to have produced into a prototype.

Thanks everybody
I hope you don't mind me "Lifting" the Graphic Mr 13. Any additional images are welcome. I intend spending very little on this, utilising objects from around the house and such to replicate the lance.

Actually, it's flattering that my model would be used as reference. I have been fascinated with this prop for years. I have made 2 or 3 versions but it's never been quite right. I think this model is finally close enough to make me happy.

You've done a great job so far!

Nine little sonic lances, all in a row :)
Before someone (Justifiably) screams, production line/commercial enterprise, hear me out

It costs, to the nearest pennies, £4 for me to make one of these. I add £1 to each sale for Dalek Elsie's pet charity, Last Chance Animal Rescue, and they cost £3 to send 1st class by Royal Mail. So, £8 each and absolutely no profit to me (C'mon, you know me better than that, I hope :) ) I've sold a dozen by Facebook and word of mouth, and, I have one going on evilbay, with a bid, would you believe? lol
