Well, while there are no updates on my TARDIS console thread, I thought I'd post a picture of something I made a while ago.

PICTURE REMOVED - SEE UPDATE BELOW

It looks a bit battered, but then so did the original. The tassels were home-made, but I'm going to replace them, as although they look right, they don't hang properly as they're not made from the right thread. I've bought some replacements that need slight modification before I can add them.

The original tassels seem to have been attached with some sort of silver thread or wire, as well - so I might do that at the same time.

I absolutely love that! What a great and original object to have, I can't recall ever seeing one before.

I'm amazed that those tassels are homemade though, they look like bought ones to me! Excellent work!

Marc - just about. But the wife doesn't like it. (Sounds like a punch-line...)

Thanks meantimebob - I'm going to have to do the fuzzy bit around the top on the new tassels as well. Not looking forward to working that out again... :)

Thanks! Wow - you're certainly delving through the old posts here! :)

Thought you might like an update of the recorder since my original try. The new tassels are hand-modified in the same way as the first one, but using better thread. Also different recorder - and I decided to do away with the replica scratches.

The book is a first attempt at a 500 Year Diary - needs some work. I've worked out how to properly marble page edges since then.

I'll buy one as soon as I find one going for a tenner in a junk shop, rather than the three grand they're going for on Ebay! :)
