WoW!

I can't believe you are using that as a desktop.

I don't think I've ever known anyone use something I've done. Thanks Nate.

Dude, you do good work. I've always loved your stuff.  ;)
why doesn't the Guide mention them? - Oh, it's not very accurate.
Oh? - I'm researching the new edition.

Mark

Bless your heart Nate.

Everything that could have gone wrong today but coming home from work to find that comment has made everything fine.

Thank you.

Going back to your rotor, are you going to use equilateral triangular columns or the two types as proposed by lespaceplie?

Not sure what difference it would make to the final build, just curious.

This one's been kind of touched upon in other people's replies but as it reflects the excellence of a lot of the research on this site (and has happened to me more times than I care to remember), I'm adding:

You spend ages making a component look really great when a dazzling new piece of info turns up on the TB site proving you've made it the wrong size/shape/colour. Back to the drawing board.

Rats I had not kept up with recent developments.....

I have three 6' acrylic triangular rods. I remember them being rather expensive.

I also have several cylindrical rods as well.

I had become used to Kingpin's research and was all set to build me a Time rotor....

Also looking at some of the new images :

Rats. My acrylic is too thick and a new diagram has changed the path of my build......

If it helps, here's another photo from The Experience, at a different angle.

It won't be screen accurate! Curses! I can upgrade later if it bothers me...

I know what you mean Nate, I've just started a new rotor for my model.

I wouldn't go for full screen accuracy anyhow, there appears to be a big chunk missing from the top tier!

**So for future builders my advice for making this is to cut the holes first.**
I have ruined too many tiers by cutting the star first and then having a slightly off center hole.

The last couple of weeks have been very busy - I've not done much TARDIS building.

I intend to rectify that.

I just need to make one more and I will have 11.

Tier 8.

Downstairs I have already cut a hole in some perspex - I want to refresh the template before I cut the star.

However I have found some special motivation.

It is nice to know that Kitty loves my work.

Also nice to see your "proof of concept" model console is still alive and kicking.

I haven't been to Home Despot in a bit, but found something cool.

hey just noticed the Fresnel or concentric circle pattern on the green Magnetic energy source detector.
122Earthshock0006greenbox4.jpg
That could be a saucer or plate or a Fresnel lens
maybe I could print a set of concentric circles on to a transparency and overlay it on a sheet of green filter.

Concentric circles here:

Volpone

That stained glass paint is a neat idea.  I don't have a use for it right now, but I'll mentally add that to my tool kit for the future.
"My dear Litefoot, I've got a lantern and a pair of waders, and possibly the most fearsome piece of hand artillery in all England. What could possibly go wrong?"

So went over to my friend Brian's house, between watching episodes of anime, I showed him my build diary updates. He thought that the specialist precise instrumentation of the manual pulse generator looked like a dial from a stove. So did his wife. I guess it doesn't look as SciFi as I thought.

So I made a thing, a red door lever. I think it came out pretty well for prototype.
I used progressively larger drill bits to widen an existing hole. I used a drawer pull to keep the alignment of the lever from over extending. And an half inch thick clear acrylic housing.
