I'd like to create a replica of the Vortex Manipulator that doubles as an arm-worn wallet. I have very little experience building things, though.
What material do you think I should make the panel from?

I prefer materials that can be found at home, or at least cheap common materials, because I want it to have a home-made feeling. I don't want to just ask a friend with a 3D printer, that's too easy.

The main parameters are durability, then weight, then cost and abundance.

I also need to figure how to make the buttons clicky. I can make it light up at the press of a button like I did with my wooden Sonic, but I want them to give feedback.

you could use artist card / board or cut plastic packaging from something you normally buy.
why doesn't the Guide mention them? - Oh, it's not very accurate.
Oh? - I'm researching the new edition.
