Elephant and Castle box

So while I was looking for something, I found something else. Back in the 40s, there used to be a police box, just a little shed, at the Elephant and Castle junction. It was nothing more than a shed, probably for the bobby directing the traffic, but I still thought it was interesting and decided to post this image.



It's there, at the right of the photo.

Incidentally, you can see the box as well in http://tardisbuilders.com/index.php?topic=7552.msg94956#msg94956, a little bit to left and down from the centre of the image. Surprisingly, it wasn't noticed.

I found some other photos, each with a worse quality than the other, but I've found a place where they may have a high-quality picture of Elephant and Castle and the box. I've approached them to see if they would be so kind as to give us a copy of their image. I don't think they will, but I figured it was worth a shot.

That is NOT a Police Box but just a Traffic Box used in bad weather to direct Traffic..
Incidentally there was a Police Post just a few yards away from this Box.
